The 2013 Bay One Acts Festival (BOA) spotlights new work from local artists. Your pledge helps sustain a Bay Area theater tradition.
The Bay One Acts Festival (BOA) offers audiences a diverse sampling of of Bay Area theater. The BOA festival, now in its 12th year, features new, short plays by local playwrights that are produced by Bay Area theater companies, directors, actors and designers.
- For over a decade BOA has gathered new and established local theater companies together each year in one dynamic festival. Each BOA Producing Partner theater company donates their time and resources towards producing an original short play by a Bay Area playwright.
- The BOA Anthology is published each year by the festival and includes all the plays presented in both programs.
- BOA supports the diverse Bay Area theater community – building bridges between companies, cultivating connections between artists, fostering future collaborations, and encouraging both artist and audience enthusiasm for the short play form.

If we reach this Kickstarter goal, we will be able to pay EVERYONE involved. We appreciate your pledge in advance, and we hope you'll also share this campaign link with family and friends who might also lend their support.
Our BOA 2013 Kickstarter campaign rewards actually offer you a chance to see the festival at a special ticket price. Reasons to Support BOA 2013...
The Bay One Acts Festival truly relies on your participation in this Kickstarter campaign so that we may continue to offer audiences a unique performance experience that has become a Bay Area theater tradition. Short plays allow playwrights to feature new, often underrepresented voices and stories through their work. BOA gives us an opportunity take risks as artists, push theatrical boundaries, and experiment with form. Most of all it brings Bay Area theater artists and audience members together with a shared experience of entertaining, engaging, provoking thought, providing laughter, and gaining new perspectives about the world we are living in.
Please join our BOA 2013 community by pledging today!

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The Bay One Acts Festival is a non-profit arts organization that exists solely to showcase new, local work through this annual event. Our goal is to continue to be able to bring the Bay Area theater community together in this collaborative way, but the BOA festival's only current funding sources are future ticket sales and this Kickstarter campaign. Each year the money raised through BOA goes right back into producing the festival. We have the typical expenses any theater production would have including venue rental, production materials, marketing and promotion costs, and stipends for artists, but we have all of that times thirteen plays in 2013.
Your BOA 2013 Kickstarter pledge will go directly towards...
SUPPORTING ARTISTS So that we can offer our actors, directors, producing partners, designers, production staff, and of course our BOA playwrights a stipend for their time and work.
THEATER SPACE We need to pay rent for our fabulous venue, Tides Theatre.
PRODUCTION MATERIALS All the nuts and bolts, and lights, and costumes, and props that make theater happen.
BOA ANTHOLOGY We actually self publish a book of the BOA plays each year, and the 2013 Anthology features all 13 scripts showcased in both programs of festival.
MARKETING and PUBLICITY MATERIALS & VIDEO So that we can spread the word about our amazing local theater talent.
CREATING COMMUNITY There is no other theater event like BOA in the Bay Area. Every dollar raised through this campaign goes directly into creating this community of artists, and making the 2013 Bay One Acts Festival festival happen so that we can share their new and exciting work with you.
If I pledge $50, can I request one ticket to BOA Program One and one ticket to BOA Program Two as my reward, instead of two tickets to the same program?
