Finally received mine in the UK £20.47 customs charge. Also.. why does mine smell like bacon?

Don't hold you breath, i'm a $100 backer in the UK and still nothing arrived, although they "claim" it was shipped a month ago... nothing from customs and nothing to show for my money. Even eBay has a dispute system.

Just received mine today! Happy to have it at last!

A heads up to UK backers: I had to pay a Customs charge of £20.47. I'm not sure when they decide to charge as I've only had to pay it twice in my life. (The charge is VAT @ 20% + an £8 handling fee.)

      Mark and Gabe,

You know, I feel like I've been extrodinarily patient waiting. I realize these things tale a while to complete - but my good will is really starting to expire here.

@ozymandias and @mathnut, good idea. A little transparency about where, exactly, things stand in working off the backlog to backers would be really great.

On the other hand, I'm beginning to have morbid curiosity as to how looooooooong it will take to actually get my blocklets. Like slowing down when you see a car crash on the highway. I feel icky. Gabe, Mark, crickets?

      ozymandias on February 13

I'm also curious how many remain to ship. That may be a good topic for an update ;-). I would be *very* interested to see how many have shipped, how many remain, an idea how many ship each week, what a week (or days) load looks like stacked up and waiting to get mailed, etc.

    9. Fb_profile_picture.thumb

Out of curiosity, how many kits are left to ship? I'm still waiting for mine. :(.

We will send out the trebuchette triggers in a separate mailing. They will be small and light enough to fit in a envelope and shipping should be pretty cheap for us. We need to tweak the trigger design to work with the latest Trebuchette design, but we don't want to spend time doing that until we are done with our main project. It's on the back-burner, but it's not forgotten.

Thanks for early feedback! We're still working on getting everyone their kits, but our goal of getting everything done by holidays is not going to happen. We've also got a pretty major announcement coming in an update this weekend.

Mine arrived today. I am very pleased with it as well. The packaging was a lot nicer than I expected which is awesome. None of my pieces were broken or chipped and my box looks amazing. I am actually afraid to play around with it because it is so nice. When you starting selling more to the public I'll just pick up a little kit so I can play with those. Overall I am impressed great job you two.:D

Thanks for sticking up for us John but Brian has a point we should post more often. My goal is to post an update of accomblishments at least every other day until we are through with all the orders for our Kickstarter backers. See updates for today's post.

Again thanks John for sticking up for us. Thanks Brian for helping us see clearly, we owe everything to our backers, and we need to keep them informed.

From your Oct 18th Message "Sorry if it looked like we dropped off the face of the earth" I'm now thinking you did drop off since that message --- WOW -- what a way help your supporters lose more faith.

I think all projects should take note. I believe this project should be considered a major Failure at this point. I understand one is not "Ordering" a product when contributing via kickstarter but rather helping a startup/new venture etc and for the help/funds we are supposed to get a inside view so as to learn from the projects success and failures -- it seems we are getting none of this. Sure it is disappointing if you thought you were going to have X gizmo by X-mas or whatever but -- that's not the problem. The problem is lack and effort of the updates -- Do not say it is because you are too busy -- that is just an excuse for lack of commitment from the team! Not sure what path I should take on this -- but it is quite a let down.

Not to beat a dead or dying horse --- but the spirit of the kickstarter was to have some Transparency --- however this is not the case. Good or Bad lets have some updates with some details. Show us where the pain is or show us the units.
