I received the two approval decks from the printer a couple of hours ago. My hands were shaking as I opened the box and started going through it.
First, the good news:
The box is gorgeous, very substantial and nice to open. I'm so glad I opted for the two part box instead of a simple tuck box.
Opening the box reveals the booklet, and beneath that are the cards, which have been shrink-wrapped together.
The cards are *perfect.* They are glossy, feel very professional, and shuffle very nicely.
Now for the bad news:
They botched the booklet. Where pages 15 and 18 should be, they have somehow repeated pages 14 and 19 a second time. It's clearly their fault, the proofs I signed off on were perfect. I even sent them a physical mock-up to try and prevent something like this from happening.
I have no doubt they will fix this, but they are going to have to re-print the booklets, take off the shrink-wrap on all the decks, swap out the booklet, then re-shrink-wrap them. Then, the shipping time will probably be the same as it was.
I haven't heard back from them on how long this is going to delay things. I'm really hoping that it won't slow things down more than a couple of days. I'll report back as soon as I know.
In the meantime, please be patient. These decks are going to be worth waiting for. Here are some photos to help tide you over til then.
