We've launched an exciting new project of our own! Introducing the Kickstarter app for iPhone!

We're making more episodes of our free TV show for PBS and you can help... plus you can be a part of it!

Here's how this works:

1. YOU - Pick a cool Biscuit gift or event on the right.
2. WE -
Use the money to make new Biscuit Brothers TV episodes that we give to PBS for free!

We only have until April 23 to make this happen. If we pass that deadline without hitting our goal no one gets charged but no incentives/rewards get made or sent out. That would be sad-ASCII indeed :(

Last Spring, on Kickstarter, fans just like you helped us raise over $13,000 towards Biscuit Brothers Production! You can scroll down and read below about just how far that amount of money typically SHOULD stretch in the world of TV production... we managed to make FOUR new TV shows, a new album, and a bunch of live concerts anyhow.

Really, I have no clue how we made the economics work. I think it was... well let's just call it "magic." And money from other sources. But I digress...

The point is we did a lot with your hard earned dollars. We turned it into new albums and videos and a load of free TV (we give our show to PBS for nothing.)

So, we were all sitting around the other day and we said, "Hey, I wonder if we could do that again?"

Except we said it much more indirectly and rambling-ly.

Here's the detailed scoop.

You can help be a part of new episodes of "The Biscuit Brothers" an Emmy award winning music education show that is given to all PBS stations free of charge.

Thanks to modern technology, it's possible for three guys and their friends to make a television show in their homes that is seen all across the nation on PBS.

That's how we decided to try it, anyhow. The project started with a small group of parents, educators, musicians and filmmakers, who had some questions.

Where would our children find exposure to affordable music education in the face of arts education cutbacks?

Where could we find fun, family oriented programming, free of corporate influence, that we'd enjoy watching with our kids?

Where could we find a TV show about a talking banjo, miniature singing cowboys, and a sentient scarecrow?

The Biscuit Brothers is our answer to those questions. Other folks seem to agree. We've won two Emmy awards, national parenting awards, we're used as curriculum in classrooms across the US and have performed live concerts for countless kids and families - often in support of other children's charities.

We've made over 54 episodes of our TV show so far, and we have a lot more to make!

Here's my problem...

You can call it a "challenge" if it makes you feel better. The "challenge" is that TV shows cost a lot of money to make and nobody really told me that when I signed up.

You've heard of the famously expensive shows like "Lost" (over $10 million in production costs for the pilot) or even less famous shows we love on PBS like "Between the Lions" (around $600,000 dollars PER EPISODE.) Yes, you read that right.

We keep our budgets as low as possible, but even so it still costs about $100,000 just to make one episode of "The Biscuit Brothers."

I should also mention - we've never been able to afford that! Instead, what we do is take on many of the jobs ourselves, recruit volunteers, and obtain many production services "In-Kind."

Doing it that way, we've been able to get our production costs down to about $24,000 per episode ($23,543 if you want to be precise.)

Of course, we still give our show to every PBS station in the US for free, so you can see we very much depend on donations, both large and small, to keep our production rolling.

Here's how you can help - again! If we raise at least $10,000 here, we'll stretch that TV money farther than it's even been stretched before. Last year on Kickstarter you helped us raise over $10,000 and we ended up making FOUR new episodes of our show! Honestly, again, I have no idea how we made those economics work, but there it is.

As an added bonus, we're offering up rewards like chances to appear on our television show, visit us on the set, come and see the taping of a Biscuit TV Special, have us come perform a concert for you, and even a chance to get your hands on a collection of Biscuit Brothers rarity tracks that don't exist anywhere else and maybe never will!

Join us! If you'd like to know us better before you do, visit our website, www.biscuitbrothers.com, and click on our bios, sections like "how you can help," or just click around and see some videos from the show.

Either way, we hope you'll come back here and help us make more TV in 2012.
