We’re an independent house music label in Chicago, Illinois. Curated by rising artists Lee Dunn (Ghosts of Venice) and Garrett Shrigley (Adulture), we’re proud to showcase forward-thinking music in a genre that often rewards the lowest common denominator.

We’ve spent a lot of time collaborating on a dance music compilation that we can’t wait to share with you.

We couldn’t be more excited to support these artists and release Livin’ for the City. But we need your help.

That’s why we’re using Kickstarter to fund our first vinyl pressing and cover release expenses. Family, friends & fans: we’d be grateful for even the smallest donation. Every little bit helps.

The exceedingly talented, international group of artists featured on Livin’ for the City:

SCR
Leeds, UK & Chicago, USA
Label heads Lee Dunn (Ghosts Of Venice) and Garrett Shrigley (Adulture) join forces to form SCR. Highly regarded individually, together these young producers define the future sound of Chicago. The combination of their deep musical knowledge, exceptional production abilities, and dance floor know-how leads to the creation of timeless, forward thinking music. Collaborating on their third single, "Tiger Motel," Lee and Garrett succeeded in producing an uncompromising vintage-inspired modern house track for the label's debut, Livin' for the City.

BROKE ONE
Lecco, Italy
Fabio Brocato aka Broke One had a career defining year in 2011. Refining the Broke One sound while retaining his vintage house influence, DJs, radio hosts and listeners from the around the world took note. We couldn't be more proud to feature his neo-classic house anthem, "The Empire."

ALEC CARLSSON
Paris, France
16 year old Alec Carlsson defines the word, "savant." Holding court with artists more than twice his age, Alec displays a level of technique far beyond his years. We're excited to bring the young, promising talent on board. When we heard his submission, "Your Soul," we instantly thought to pair him with our amazing videographer Steve Teeple to create both Alec's and the label's video debut.

RIDNEY
Southhampton, UK
Hailing from Southampton, UK, Ridney continues the legacy of talented South-coasters breaking new ground in dance music. Discovered by James Zabiela, Ridney has been hard at work producing some of the best house music to tiptoe the mainstream. His singles and collaborations with James Talk are staples of BBC Radio 1 dance broadcasts including Pete Tong's Essential Selection. We can't wait to share "Sync Up," his track on Livin' for the City with a whole new batch of listeners.

BLACK MADONNA
Chicago, USA
The Black Madonna spent her earliest years living in the Appalachian mountains, later emigrating to Chicago in her late 20's. After working in the city's dance music industry under a variety of aliases and projects, she has has turned her focus inward. With "Exodus" she merges the hypnotic, looping pulse of Chicago at 3AM with the religious ecstasy of Sunday morning gospel. The result is a delicate, exuberant and heartbreaking record that is house music at its transformative best.

JNL
Winnipeg, Canada
The slow-burning "Beausejour" has been stuck in our heads since we first heard it. The first track selected for the compilation, with it's syrupy, stompy groove, Jon'Nathon Stebbe, JNL for short, brings us one of the most memorable house tracks we've heard this year and a keystone on the Livin' for the City compilation.

MAXIME F.
Grenoble, France
Maxime first caught our eye with his absolutely one of a kind, improvised live performance videos. Making self-described "house beats cooked in an old-school studio using only the best French recipes." His vintage-washed house music, created exclusively with analogue gear, is a rare treat. After watching his spontaneous live production, we knew that we had to sign him. We're thrilled to feature his addition to Livin' for the City: "Out of Tune, Out of Place."
