There are also non-science-fiction strategy, miniatures, and more on the docket, in fact, we find ourselves already with more games to make than time. In addition to receiving all future games we produce for life, we would like to meet you the conferences we will be attending throughout the year. We are planning a party for everyone attending Origins, GenCon, and other conventions/conferences next year as well! Also, we will ask you to help contribute to our success by requesting your participation in our play-test program, where you can provide us candid feedback and direction for the games we have in production and what future games we should be making! We had a similar experience with FedEx. Took me a week and a half of phone calls to find out who I had to talk to and that I had to pay $60 to get my parcel released. So please use USPS when shipping to Canada. It might take a little longer, but it is FAR less hassel.
Creator Rob LeGood on April 30
Backer from Canada here. Please DO NOT use UPS for shipping into Canada. I've just been charged more in Brokerage Fees that what I spent on the Kickstarter for Fallen City of Karez.
In the future, I'll make sure to verify who people are shipping with, but in the meantime, can you let us know with whom you'll be shipping (I've heard that USPS is far more reasonable.)
Creator Break From Reality Games on April 21
@Alan - Surveys will be going out at the end of May or very early June. We held off on sending these, as this was a lesson learned form our last project: Disaster Looms!
Creator Alan Geoffrion on April 21
It's been a busy year for me and I don't remember if the survey for this game went out. I've moved and have a new address so if the survey did go out how do I update my address?
Creator Joseph Courtright on April 14
I check this everyday to see when I will get my game. :)

@Matt and David, thank you both so much for your continued enthusiasm for this game. I can let you know that the finalization's on all art are being done as we speak ((looks over at Photoshop screen)) and example copies are starting to be sent off to the companies that we want to manufacture the games. Remember we are looking for the highest quality we can get to print this game so that way you have a copy that will last you for years to com.
Matt, I am so excited to hear that you liked the game. Personally, the mini scenario "Save the Nutrino" is one of my favorites. Lasts 15 minutes and I could seriously play it all day!
Creator David Reeves on March 10
Progress update? How is the game going, and when will it ship?
Creator Matt Smith on February 1
I just wanted to drop by and say I played the prototype with a couple of experienced co-op players (e.g. Space Alert) last weekend, and they were very impressed with the pacing of DR. It's not as hectic as SA, but still very challenging, and requires solid teamwork. I can't wait for the production version to arrive.
Creator David Reeves on January 29
update on Damage Report and the play mats would be appreciated (especially those without a Facebook account).

Is there some other source of updates for this project? This comment board has been untouched in over a month and a half. I keep checking back hoping for life and keep being disappointed. Still excited about the game, but would love some updates in the meantime.

@Beth - I am sure we will work something out with a couple of the local stores to host a pick up event.
Creator Beth Goza on November 5, 2012
If we're local to Seattle will there be the ability to pick up when they're ready?
Creator Tam and Danks on November 5, 2012
Thanks for responding, @Eric, and I totally understand. Looking forward to unwrapping this game.
Creator Break From Reality Games on November 5, 2012
@Karl - sorry for the delay! The survey is going to wait until January. Many people move the first of the year, and Kickstarter suggests waiting until within 4 weeks of shipment. When we did Disaster Looms! - we sent out the survey a week after the project ending... this resulted in dozens of address changes - and this was only during a 75 day period. I hope you understand! I hear you loud and clear though - and I am certain you are not alone in this - so our update for this week will include a comment on this. Thank you for your support, and your feedback.
Cheers,,
Eric
Creator Tam and Danks on November 4, 2012
So after hearing nothing after my previous comment, I feel I have to ask again if there is a time estimate on the survey. While I realize delivery isn't until January there is something comforting about filling out the survey.
Creator Tam and Danks on October 27, 2012
Hey guys,
I was wondering on the status of the survey and if there is an eta.
Creator Break From Reality Games on October 15, 2012
@Scott - yes you will receive awards as a $70 backer, as this is what you pledged.
Cheers,
Eric
Creator Scott Dexter on October 15, 2012
Just re-read the update about the gamer level, now I just want to confirm I am going to be in a the $70 level vs $45
Creator Scott Dexter on October 15, 2012
So did the GAMER level end up with a $25 ala carte item?
Creator Scott Dexter on October 11, 2012
I guess at this point just leave me at the $70 level, thanks.
Creator Matthew Fernsler on October 10, 2012
Thanks for the update Eric
Creator Break From Reality Games on October 10, 2012
@Kenny
This campaign's reward system was definitely an experiment for us and how to structure a reward system differently. Our issue is, we wanted to find a way to scale up goodies and backer loot - but figure out a way to have some of the cost of that loot to be pledged for. We leaned many things from this, one of the key thinks is engagement levels of our backers, and expectations of what backers like to see - and do not like to see. I can commit that we will not structure any future campaign like this one.
We feel strongly though at Break From Reality Games that Kickstarter is the beginning... and Damage Report is a phenomenal game that will be appreciated and enjoyed by many many people thanks to generous backers like you. We thank you for your feedback, and want to know that we listen.
Cheers,
Eric
Creator Break From Reality Games on October 10, 2012
@Matthew - it is mostly getting rest, and finalizing expectations for the next 12 weeks to deliver a quality, fun, on-time game. Know well that we are at work, and will have weekly updates keeping all of our backers up to date through the manufacturing process. If you check out Disaster Looms! - you can see we are not afraid to post what is going on :)
Thank you for your feedback. It is nice to know that the posts matter to folks! Finally, thank you for your backing support - and to everyone on this feed. You have once again made a lot of work for us. And we are very excited about it!
Cheers,
Eric
Creator Matthew Fernsler on October 10, 2012
It seems to be common with Kickstarters that you get an update in the final hours before funding and then you do not hear from them for a while. I am not sure if they are counting their new pile of money, breaking out the Cristal and partying hard, or just getting some sleep, but it would be more reassuring to me if there was a post funding update that came out shortly after the end of the Kickstarter letting me know some kind of time line of what to expect as a backer. Has this been others experience?
Creator Scott Dexter on October 9, 2012
Let me know what I can do to adjust my pledge/
Creator Kenny B on October 8, 2012
I want to second Bruce's comment, and agree with BFR's response. It seems to be most successful when having multiple tiers of rewards for each tier to be immediately viable, rather than contingent upon overfunding to possibly achieve a potential. Furthermore, I think the problem with the rewards tiers for this project was the early backer discounts. Without those people, except for the wonderfully generous among backers, would simply have pledged at the lowest level then upgraded as the higher levels became unlocked if the stretch goals were something they desired. But with the early specials encouraging people to get higher tiers before a limited number of discounted slots filled, there was incentive to grab one of these spots and gamble, not just that the stretch goal would be reached, but that it would be worth the extra money over a lower tier as we did not even know what the goals were at the beginning. Finally, changing the rewards schemes mid-stream, not to mention at the eleventh hour, to address these imbalances further muddied a confusing process. Overall, while I am enthusiastic about the game in question, I was not at all excited about this Kickstarter campaign itself.
But, it's over, so I can let go of my irritation and focus on enjoying this when I get my grubby mitts on it next year!
Creator Scott Dexter on October 8, 2012
Opps yeah that may be the case, I meant to change the pledge as well. Sorry about that, I had a lot of Kickstarters drop on me at once.
Creator Break From Reality Games on October 8, 2012
@Scott - Last minute changes to pledges occasionally don't get processed in time. It's also possible that you may have changed your reward level without changing your pledge. We'll be happy to work with you to correct your pledge.
@Bruce - The consensus on our end is that the tiered reward levels were not differentiated sufficiently before the over-funding goals were reached. More distinct rewards prior to over-funding would have given people greater incentive early on to pledge higher, as demonstrated by the [DELUXE LEVEL] upgrade including Systems Critical.
Creator Bruce Bernard on October 8, 2012
I didn't want to post this before the campaign ended. My opinion is that the tiered reward levels, while a noble experiment, don't work. Too many people changing reward levels when it became obvious that the $70,000 mark was not going to be reached. So rather than having everyone being on the same team and cheering the project on, it seems that everyone was trying to be in at the optimal level for where they thought the total would end up. Compare that to another project that ended a few hours ago that raised a lot of money in the final 2 hours because everyone was receiving the same rewards and all had a vested interest in the outcome. In Damage Report, those who were in at the standard level had little reason to cheer on and promote further backing. So while the project was wildly successful by any measure, and I'm certainly glad it was, I think it could have been more successful had it been structured without the tiered rewards.
Creator Scott Dexter on October 8, 2012
BTW I switched mine to the $45 level before the end, but according to Amazon I was charged $70

Creator Scott Dexter on October 8, 2012
Congrats, can't wait to get this game in my greedy hands!
Creator Applejack on October 8, 2012
Well, it was a good try for $50k, but at 480+% of goal, I think we can safely say "Damage Report" was a success. It's been fun, and Break From Reality Games have been very generous to their backers. I'm glad to counted among them. January can't come soon enough! Cheers everyone, and best of luck to Break From Reality Games!

Creator Paul Brillantes on October 8, 2012
We are to the point where we only need to find two Zettaspacers instead of two Yottaspacers. C'mon!
Creator schmarky on October 8, 2012
Yes, lets all add a bit to hit the strech
Creator Beth Goza on October 8, 2012
Yay! Ok I also added on the for the Play Mat to see if I can help hit the 50K!
Creator Break From Reality Games on October 8, 2012
@Beth - We'll be doing public demos throughout the next three months
If anybody would like more information on playtesting, drop wombat@bfrgames.com an email. Seattle area and Print & Play blind playtesting should commence around the beginning of November.
Creator Beth Goza on October 8, 2012
Awesome - thanks! Also if we live in the Seattle area, any chance you'll be doing some more playtesting? would love to get a peek.
Creator Break From Reality Games on October 8, 2012
@Beth - The play mat will be made available at retail by some time next spring.
Creator Beth Goza on October 8, 2012
Last question: will we be able to buy the play mat at a later date, or is it kickstarter only?
Creator Alex Barbieri on October 8, 2012
As the creator of Damage Report, I'd like to thank all of you wonderful backers for all of your support. It is so amazing to see the game I've worked on for years coming to life and it's all thanks to you! With about an hour and a half left to go we it looks like we're going to finish up with about 500% of our goal...amazing! :)
To me, this Kickstarter campaign is just the beginning. With your help, we're going to be able to publish the standard edition of the game as I originally envisioned it. I'm positive that once everyone gets their hands on it, they are going to love it. I'm hoping we'll be back here on Kickstarter again soon by popular demand with several more Damage Report expansions (just you wait to see what I and my colleages here at Break From Reality have in mind, you'll love it!)
Thanks again everyone, you've made my dream come true!
Creator Break From Reality Games on October 8, 2012
Miniatures, print and plays, and foreign translations are all things we're looking into.
