Carbondale Needs Ice Cream

Carbondale, Colorado, is about the closest thing to paradise that anyone could ask for.  But it doesn't have an ice cream shop.  In fact, there really isn't a place in town where friends and families can casually socialize in the warm summer evenings. 

That's where we (Ben and Anders) come in.  

We love homemade ice cream; we love small, sustainable business practices; we love the Carbondale community; and Carbondale Creamery has been a labor of love for the past 7 months, when we first started scheming.  Check out the video for the full scoop.

Rewards

Every pledge of $15 or more gets a sticker and their name permanently engraved in our store's "Wall of Love," where you will forever be immortalized as one of the founders of Carbondale Creamery.  Then, we've tiered some fun rewards in return for even greater generosity.  If you're local, we'll bring your reward to your door so that we can shake your hand in person.

Disclaimer: shipping ice cream is really expensive; but, if you live far away and gotta have a few pints, send us a message and we'll work something out.

We have so many plans for making Carbondale Creamery a staple part of this community.  Here are some of our favorites:

BYOBowls - Bringing a bowl and spoon from home saves us money on materials and saves the earth from more garbage.  So we'll reward your thoughtfulness with a discount.

Pint Club - Similar to BYOBowls, we have glass pints packed with a variety of flavors.  Take one home, and when it's all gone return it to us for a new one.  

Farmers Markets - The abundance of delicious, unique flavors that can be grown in the Roaring Fork Valley and surrounding areas is amazing, and we can't wait to consistently introduce new flavors that highlight this bounty.  Palisade Peach Cobbler vanilla ice cream, anyone?

Full Moon Rides - We want to help keep the Full Moon Bike Rides family friendly.  So, we're planning on having some 'Cream On The Go available during the tour, and also offer extended hours so families can gather afterwards.

Your Contribution

This KickStarter is intended to, well, kick-start our project.  With these funds we will be able to secure a place on Main Street, which will be crucial for Carbondale Creamery's success.  We can then count on our handy, artistic friends to help create a comfy, eclectic interior by using as many recycled materials as possible.

The remaining funds will go towards updating our house hold ice cream machine to restaurant-level equipment.  But don't worry: we're still committed to making our ice cream in small batches and with an ever-evolving offering of flavors.

A side note: To us, KickStarter and organizations like it are what make the entrepreneurial dream a viable option for college graduates in what has become an unwelcoming economic climate.  Grassroots funding over relying on big banks and risky loans keeps us free to focus on making Carbondale Creamery the best ice cream shop that it can be.  We believe our education, energy, and creativity is meaningful equity, and we are truly humbled by the statement of faith your contribution makes.
