PRETTY LITTLE VICTIM is a short film from the expanding community of independent Alaskan filmmakers, to be shot in Anchorage, AK

We open in a diner, where a cheerful young man enjoys a cup of coffee. Across the room, he locks eyes with a haunting pale-skinned beauty. She is a freshly-turned vampire, hunting for the first time, but hesitant to make her kill. And the guy...he's falling in love.

PRETTY LITTLE VICTIM is a short film from Writer/Director Paul Jones and Producer Beth Varner, to be shot in Anchorage, Alaska during May of 2011. We have an absorbing script, a dynamite cast, and a skilled crew that is feverishly tearing through preproduction even as you read this. Our ducks are rapidly being put into a very neat row. The final element we need to pull off this production is funding.

After an exhaustive budgeting process that balances production needs with the practical necessities of small-scale independent filmmaking, we have allocated the funds we raise through this campaign for the following aspects of production:

  • Stipends for key crew and cast - We're not going to be paying them much, but we are going to be paying them something. It is our belief that the time and effort these people are committing to the project must be honored.
  • Food for cast and crew - High-quality, readily available food is the fuel that allows a movie set to run. We are committed to providing craft services at all times as well as satisfying lunches and/or dinners to our crew.
  • Equipment Rental - While the bulk of our equipment needs are being met by our own gear, certain scenes will require more specialized lights, camera support, and sound equipment than we have available. Local filmmakers and friends of the production have pledged their support in helping us achieve this on a limited budget.
  • Make-Up Effects - To fully realize the vision of a haunting vampiric beauty, top-notch make-up effects will be required. Fangs, customized contact lenses, fake blood, and make-up will all need to be purchased.

Thank you for your kind consideration.
