About this project
BENCH SEAT, a classic love story with a musical twist, is a brief moment in the lives of a young couple on the verge of either moving forward or breaking up. While the girl envisions a bright and happy future with her boyfriend, he can only think of all the things he’s missing out on by being trapped in their relationship. But he reconsiders breaking up with her once she has relayed the story of the last boy who dared dump her.
We are extremely excited to have a dark comedy script written by award-winning playwright NEIL LABUTE (best known for the screen apatation of his play "In the Company of Men," as well as writing and directing several successful films), and original music and lyrics written by the very talented TEDDY GEIGER. (You may know Teddy from the sadly short-lived CBS show "Love Monkey," and the comedy film, "The Rocker," as well as his Billboard top 10 hit "Confidence").
Additionally, CASSIE SCERBO from the hit ABCFamily show "Make it or Break it" has signed on to play the lead female role. We'll keep you updated as casting continues!
We have assembled an amazing and experienced crew, from the cinematographer and musical supervisor to make-up and costumes, who are willing to work for FREE because they believe passionately in this project. As soon as we have reached our budget goal, we're ecstatic about going into production in July.
Our plan is to spend a few days rehearsing the musical numbers and script with the actors and dancers, with one day in the recording studio, and 4 shoot days in the Los Angeles area.
We hope there are people out there as passionate about musicals as we are! We are anxious to get started on the film, and any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Anna is from Seattle - where she graduated from the University of Washington before moving to Los Angeles to follow her dreams. She worked at a production company called Wonderland Sound and Vision for six years before making her award-winning first music video. Since then, she has continued directing Music Videos, Commercials, and the award-winning short film, "Matter." She plans on making movies and musicals in the future.
Anna has directed videos for dozens of artists including Train, Matt Goss, The Pussycat Dolls, Carbon Leaf, The Dan Band, and Stella Starr.
