About this project
Real Belltown will be a public art piece that will bring joy to Seattle's most misunderstood neighborhood. The project will involve occupying some chalk and then crowdsourcing it.

What are you going to do with the 800 dollars?
Kickstarter™ will take 40 dollars for their fee, and Amazon™ will take another 40, so that leaves 720, and we'll put another hundred of that away for taxes just to be safe, so that leaves 620. In the unlikely event that this project is successfully funded that money will be spent on supplies for our public art event and party.
Huh? Hippies? Hippie party?
Let's not pretend Seattle is the kind of town it was back in the 80s, with the wild all night parties and the strong rock music and whatnot.
The public art event will be about chalk, and the after-party will be about beer. After spending a hundred dollars or so on chalk, we will have $500 left over for beer. Art beer.
Why is your video here about Danny's Wonder Freeze in the Market? That's not even Belltown.
First of all, Danny's Wonder Freeze no longer exists - it's called "Dog Japon" now. And secondly - Belltown is everywhere. Everyone, all over the planet, has the essence of Belltown within them.

There will be no book - we changed our minds. Luckily, Kickstarter has allowed us to change our project from a film to a book to a public art event. Public art event - that has a nice ring to it. Those pledging $25 or more have been contacted and we are negotiating alternate rewards for them so that they don't drag us into a costly nightmare of litigation.
