About this project
THE EP
The material on my highly personal EP, entitled "The Story," deals with the idea of being asleep, in a dream-state and then having an awakening. Writing these songs helped me work through difficult times and reach the other side. I would love to be able to share this with as many people as possible, to give hope to anyone who's going through life's challenges. I invite you to become part of my story, in the realization of my dream of sharing my music with the world. In return, I hope my music will strike a chord and stay with you for awhile.
WHY AM I DOING ALL OF THIS?
Music is my passion, and has always been the driving force in my life. The reason why I am here is to create beautiful experiences for other people through my music. My goal with doing Kickstarter is to finish the mixing, mastering and CD pressing of my EP so I have a professional, high quality sounding recording that I can sell at shows. I don't have a ton of money and and need people like you to support the project. Kickstarter is a great way to get people involved with my life's passion.
WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
If I raise 2.5K I will be able to do the mastering and pressing of my EP. This would be so helpful in getting my music out there and realizing another big piece of my dream. While most of my collaborators are working for free or very little and have been helping to make this dream a reality (many thanks to Rich DeCicco, Peter Cortez, Zoe Schack and Chani Sanchez!!!), there are still practical things that need to be paid for to get this project off the ground.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I RAISE MORE THAN 2.5K?
If I raise more than my goal, the funds will go towards financing a full-length album, touring and finding a way to give more of an experience back to my fans via my website. I can't wait to get more music out to everyone!
NOTE: At the end date of the project (January 28th) Kickstarter will send all Backers an individual message asking for your shipping address. All packages will be shipping after the week of January 28, when CD pressing is complete.

Who is Becca Schack?
Becca Schack's voice purrs like a badass sex kitten with an attitude. Juilliard-trained composer and electro-pop artist, Becca Schack tells intimate stories of her life with provocative boldness. Her music sounds like Debby Harry meets Bjork on roller skates.
Born in upstate New York to artistically inclined parents, Becca grew up entertaining friends and family members at birthday parties and family gatherings. As a young child, she took pleasure in forcing her sister to play duets and sing harmonies. When her mother finally called the local piano teacher to sign her up for lessons, the word had already spread like wildfire. Now based in NYC, Becca's originality and technical prowess have brought her to music venues spanning New York, Boston, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, and Mexico.
At the tender age of eleven, “hearing music rustling in the wind” of her tree-house, Becca started winning public recognition for her compositions at ASCAP's Young Composers competitions. She is a Gold Record recipient for the Trans Siberian Orchestra's “The Lost Christmas Eve” album, a Finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (Electronic Division) for her song “Metal Factory,” and has regular music placements on network television.
Her musical background is both broad and deep. At Julliard School, she studied with world-renowned classical composers Samuel Adler, Christopher Rouse and electronic music guru Elliott Sharp. She has composed for ensembles such as Melodia Women's Choir and Ballet Austin II, and has worked with some of New York's finest musicians including Mark Wood, Eric Mingus, Alex Skolnick, Teddy Thompson and members of the New York Philharmonic. She's rocked out with bands Cantinero, Samsara, Braindance, Tonica and released a video poking fun of the Cabaret License law in NYC defending artistic expression.
After exploring many genres that shape her current style and musical tastes (including pop, dance, chill-out, progressive dark wave, rock and classical) Becca returned to the studio with a new mission: allow the music to be created naturally without any attachment to any particular style or formula. The result is a beautiful culmination of her musical influences and life experiences. What you will hear on her new EP is a journey of self-realization. There is a pure sense of authenticity there, at the same time it oozes with romance and sensuality, as though there is electricity running through every word.
As she prepares to release her EP, Becca's talents can be experienced through her regular stage performances around the New York City Metropolitan area and beyond.
