The word galvanize means to excite or shock something into motion.

The purpose of this magazine series is to explore the mind’s inner-workings and how so many different types of creatives in a multitude of professions keep their work fresh and vibrant. No matter what field that the interviewee comes from, they at one point or another, have experienced a period of blandness, writer’s block, or a lack of creativity/drive, perhaps. I hope to allow the readers to learn from these individuals and show that even some of your favorite authors, illustrators, designers, dancers, and creatives, can suffer from a lack of creativity from time-to-time and how they cope with it.

I plan to have the debut issue published and then distributed to those who have contributed to this kickstarter project. The money is for editing, publishing, and shipping costs, as well as printing services for the N8 Van Dyke sketches.

The tentative line-up for the debut issue is as follows:

Derek Deal from Derek Deal Illustration; Elizabeth Hand, best-selling science fiction author; DJ EASE from Nightmares on Wax; Aaron Draplin of Draplin Design Company & Field Notes brand fame; Aniekan Udofia, illustrator and painter; Lauren Devera, hip-hop dancer from Kodachrome; The Five One, DC-area alternative band; Victor Llamas, illustrator and photographer; and N8 Van Dyke, freelance illustrator.
