About this project
Over the weekend of December 9th through 11th, 2011, The Beagle Brothers recorded 14 songs at Red Caiman Studios in beautiful downtown Pittsburgh. Once again, at the helm of the mixing console was "7th Beagle" Dino DiStefano. We also drank beer and ate tofurky sandwiches.
What we laid down in the studio will be our 3rd full-length album entitled "Dancers of the Drunken Two Step." It has all the classic hallmarks of a Beagle Brothers album, with some new additions: pedal steel, ukelele, a Connolly/Kline composition, and beautiful Hawaiian lyrics. The recording part is complete and paid for, but in order to get the songs mixed and mastered by Dino, and then pressed to CD, we need your help.
A Kickstarter campaign will allow us the opportunity to simultaneously complete our goals and provide you with a copy of "Dancers of the Drunken Two Step." We have been very fortunate the past six years for the support of our friends and family, and have always depended on the kindness of strangers. We want you to hear this album because we think it's our best one yet. We hope you want to hear it too!
As an extra incentive, if we can reach $3000, everyone that donates will receive a free digital download of Oh Dang Cobra Fang's debut record (this is our cherry-sweet-kickass Rock 'N Roll party machine/other band!) The Beagle Brothers began as a Rock 'n Roll band in 1998, switched to playing country music in 2005, and in 2011 were called "Pittsburgh's best county band." (sic) They have played the Johnstown Folk Festival, WQED Holiday Jam, and the Central PA Brewfest, and have opened for David Allan Coe, Reverend Horton Heat, Junior Brown, Wayne Hancock, and the Avett Brothers, among many others. They have released 2 albums and 1 EP to date, and are currently working on their 3rd album, "Dancers of the Drunken Two-Step." You can usually find one or all of them at Sonny's Tavern.
