Are you willing to support the thrilling exploration of contemporary ideas on stage in Boise, Idaho? Play your part in OFF THE RECORD, Lynn Allison's electrifying debut as a playwright!
Lights up. A handsome, senior member of the United States Senate sits at a table in a cinderblock room across from the undercover cop he met in the airport bathroom. There is a tape recorder on the table and the rest is . . . not at all what you expect.
Lynn is known primarily for her brilliant work as an actor at Idaho Shakespeare Festival and of course here at BCT (SOUVENIR, LOVE-LIES-BLEEDING, ELEEMOSYNARY). Her first effort as a playwright has proven to be charged with just as much excitement and has sparked intense conversations since it's debut as part of the 2011 5X5 Reading Series.
OFF THE RECORD is not a one-sided treatise on a particular issue. Nor is it a broad comedy meant to lampoon one person. It's a multifaceted, fictional drama with some surprising laughs that will leave anyone, regardless of their politics, with something new to think about.
