Kickstarter

This Holy Box is the title of our chapbook, a satire to go along with our anti-television theme. 

This is going to be a 6 by 9 booklet compilation of fifteen poems by Amber Lynette and various artwork by Megan Elam. It will also feature photography done by us, and perhaps one or two other individuals.  This entire project is for fun and to share with others our most recent works. 

Excerpt of Poetry 

I can feel the street urchins along the banks of ceremony,

Lighting their torches as I pass through the sewers of history.

I can feel myself slipping back into my skin and breaking in my bones.

I can taste the truth rotting between my teeth as I reach out to touch my world

enthralled in a graffiti sky, and almost as if I can breathe again,    

Morning comes—and suddenly, I’m alive.  

I currently have half of the poems edited and ready to go, Megan is working on the art for each draft, and we just finished our photoshoot for the front and back cover. 

There will be an about me section for both Megan and I, fictitious blurbs, and a bunch of little creative nicks throughout the project. The works in this book are going to be a little rough and edgy, which is exactly what we want. I really believe that this is going to turn out amazing. I'm so excited! We're working really hard to make this the best it can be.  

The funding received through this website will be used to put this booklet together, and make copies. We would like the cover to be thicker than the pages, pictures to be glossy, binding, and a somewhat professional feel to an otherwise cut and paste style. It will also go to copyright registry fees. :)

Any donation of ten dollars or more will receive a copy of This Holy Box, signed by both Megan and I.
