About this project

In December of 2005, I was living in California, trying to follow my dreams like any good artist should, but financial and personal circumstances forced me to move back to Ohio. Suffice it to say, things were not going well for me. Usually when things aren't going well, I tend to focus extra-hard on my creative projects to keep myself distracted. During my last month in California, I did a really good job distracting myself by pouring all my creative energy into a movie script.

The movie is called "Max Anderson, Private Eye" and I wrote the entire screenplay - by hand - in ten days. It was one of my proudest creative accomplishments. When I wrote it, I was careful to keep an independent film budget in mind, were I ever able to shoot the screenplay myself. Now, six years later, I may be able to do just that.

Using all the money-saving tricks I've learned from shooting short films and web videos over the past five years, not to mention the considerable resources and support of family, friends and colleagues, I'm looking to shoot "Max Anderson, Private Eye" with an estimated budget of $2,000.

But don't mistake a small budget for a small vision! While $2,000 may seem like a small amount, even for an independent film, most of it will be going to the actors involved. We have nearly all the costumes and props we need, and most of the locations we would need are free to use. It's a very economical film!

I've been lucky to have so many people support my previous projects in any way they can. So I'm hoping that we can get even more support (in the form of donations, of course) for my biggest project of all! Help us bring "Max Anderson, Private Eye" to the silver screen! Thank you.
