Projectors
The ten Vivitek projectors (for the ten demo production machines) arrived today! We're still waiting on the metal and hardware for these ten. But we do have the acyrlic and electronics already. I expect the hardware kits any day now and the metal to ship next week. If all goes well we should have 11 machines printing tests by the end of May.
(I should have stock in Vivitek?!)

Michael - The modification (which will already be completed prior to shipping) allows the projector to focus "up close" (~5-10" from the lens).

I'm negotiating with Vivitek to see how many units I'd need to order before they will create a new model number with the modification done in house. I'm offering to buy 100 and they want me to buy 1000... We'll have to wait and see were that ends up :-)

I just tried it on my spare to see about the options for mounting other lenses and it was fairly pain free (not many clips). But I think it is sensible for you to make the modification, mostly for the sake of the flex type ribbon cables which are easy to damage if you are not used to dealing with them.

Yes, I'm planning a video documenting the modification. Note that we will be doing the modification in house so the units we deliver will have that already completed.

I think they should be wanting stock in you! Will you consider documenting the projector mod, I know it is a simple matter of 3.2mm spacers but it would be interesting to see. (I also have a spare projector now)

I really like the color of your prototype, although I guess it's not fair to compair when it is currently the only real color you have right now. Do ypu plan on trying out different colors for the demo units?
