I want to thank everyone who supported me … you made it possible the Berlin Boombox became a reality and now it's available at my online store and in shops all over the world.

It's been a while since this Kickstarter project started in April. The plan back then was to have the Berlin Boombox produced and on the market by june … how naive!
Being a graphic designer & illustrator I had no idea how much work it is to release a real product. I had been selling posters and screeenprints before but this was a whole different story.
I though that I had figured everything out by the time I started on Kickstarter. But I had not imagined what it needs to get it happening, it turned out the design part was by far the least work.
Technical problems kept popping up along the way, legal requirements had to be met, questions by Kickstarter backers had to be answered, logistics and quality control had to be set up, price calculations had to be revised, a website was launched, etc … all this with a staff of one!

I am happy that everything worked out, the first production run of the Berlin Boombox is on the market and all Kickstarter backers have received their rewards. Your support on Kickstarter was a tremendous encouragement and now I am lucky to get tons of positive feedback from people who tell me how they love their Boombox. I really appreciate your pictures and stories.

Shipping of the Berlin Boomboxes has started last friday. 

The packaging, storing and shipping is done by Mosaik, a sheltered workshop based in Berlin-Kreuzberg. They are incredibly nice people and have a lot of experience with that kind of work. They are working very hard on getting all Kickstarter rewards on their way as fast as possible, but it takes a while until they are all out. Shipping will continue next week, but the first of you might already have received your Boombox by now.

When you receive your Berlin Boombox, enjoy, and please let me know what you think. Your feedback is important to me.

It's been crazy weeks here at the Berlin Boombox headquarters with production in full swing and 1000 things to organize and oversee.

And finally I can confirm the shipping date: October 25th.
Almost everything is ready and we're only waiting for the ship with the electronics from China to arrive in Germany. From then on it's mainly about bringing all the pieces together, boxing and shipping them.

Carboard punching/cutting is underway at Stange Design, a local family business who are pioneers of cardboard furniture manufacturing. I visited the workshop during the last two days and was very pleased to see their dedication to quality down to the last detail. The construction of the Berlin Boombox turned out to be much more complex than they expected at first, but everyone is incredibly dedicated and they always figure out a way to make things work.
