Here is most of the crew on Sunday pre-event. Yes, those are Charlie's birthday brownies. On behalf of everyone involved in designing, building, and constructing Aurora on the playa, thank you for your support in helping to make this piece happen!
We will be sending out the rewards in October, again thank you!

Update #6: Strippin and crimpin al fresco
Epic Saturday at the Box Shop: Aurora, Tympani Lambada, reOnion, and the Fist projects were in full effect.
The solder was flying as the Aurora LED Crew prepped 220 RGB LED strips.
The Leaf Crew was busy attaching 4,200 handmade copper leaves onto the newly galvanized branches while the Tree Crew assembled the 2nd story flange to the trunk top.
Update #5: Success!
Thank you! Thank You!! THANK YOU!!!
We reached our funding goal and cannot thank you enough. We can still accept donations so please help us get the word out.
Aurora grows taller everyday and is about to bust thru the ceiling at the Box Shop. The electronics assembly and soldering efforts are starting to kick into high gear, and the custom software driving the LEDs is making them look spectacular.
Shortly after our funding date on Friday 8/12, we will send out a survey for your rewards. You can specify the Initials you want stamped into your leaf at that time. The remaining rewards will go out after Burning Man, sometime in September.
Oh, here is what 200 branches look like as they await shipment to the galvanizing shop.
soon,
The Aurora Team

Charles Gadeken creates beautiful sculptures that incorporate mixed metals, interactive and kinetic elements, and light and fire. All his sculptures change and enhance the environment in which they are shown, and invite the viewer to not only behold the art as spectacle, but also engage in it as a sensory experience. His art is uniquely organic, using fire and light to enhance and complete the sculpture. His art dances, changes, has a wide range of colors and is always in motion, never looking same shape twice.
Charles is a founding member of the Flaming Lotus Girls and has helped the group create their fiery art for the last 7 years. He created the Illumination Project; monumental kinetic sculptures created for the opening of Treasure Island, Santa Rosa Art Museum, Reno Art Town and Burning Man. His work has been exhibited at EDC, Beyond Wonderland, Nocturnal, PHISH and other art and music festivals around the world.
Charles is also the founder of The BoxShop; a San Francisco container-based work space that houses over 100 artists.
