About this project

Overcoming Going Under is an independent film written and directed by Anthony Garcia. Seven years of hard work and it is nearly complete...but the post process is time consuming and often expensive. Aught Media, the production company, needs to raise money to bring the film to completion.

The rough cut is complete, and things are moving forward. Soon it will be ready to hand of to the composers for the score, the colorist, and the sound designers.

A fundraiser/screening will be held to help raise money for these final steps. An extensive online presence has been launched to raise awareness of the film and build a following of interested audience members, and the film will be submitted to festivals and promoted online to bring the project to profitability.

We are trying to raise $10K, but we figured it'd be best to start out conservative and set the goal at half of that for now, so if the goal is met please keep pledging – we can use all the help we can get!

film synopsis:
January hears voices in his head...well, just two really. One is his own – just like all of us; his thoughts, his voice. The other is not his own. Thing is it's always been there, telling him what to do...and what will happen next. He never thought much about it until recently when he ignored it's advice and something terrible happened. Now he wants to know where where the other voice comes from.

I'm Anthony Garcia

I was born in Santa Monica, CA. My dog's name is Harley and she is a mix of rottweiler (I think) and something smaller and furrier. She's great. I'm a graphic designer. I graduated from Otis. I play bass and write songs. I also make basses & guitars.

Enough about me.

I started a production company called Aught Media with Brian Rife and we have several projects we're putting together including a webseries about a hitman named Mark, a documentary/concert movie about Kevin Sandbloom and a few other things.

But the big news is about the movie I'm making called Overcoming Going Under. I wrote it and directed it. Just finished the rough cut. It's going to be really great. But we could really use some help to fund the remaining steps in the post process (color correction, sound editing, fulfillment etc)...

...and that is where kickstarter comes in!
