This Project in April
The AudioGlobe project is to produce and release high quality "Best of April 2012" Digital Samplers of 10 events recorded in Portland, OR venues during the month of April, 2012 . The funds will be used to give local media engineers the resources to capture Full HD Video and Studio Grade audio of these events, archiving them on AudioGlobe.com and creating exclusive Digital and Physical Samplers for our Kickstarter Donors.
Our goal from this project is to facilitate our growing team of Media Engineers and train them, through real world experience, in the art of on-location recording techniques. By not charging Artists for services, Media Engineers can perfect their skills without $$ being in the way.
The schedule will be 2-3 events a week for 4 weeks in April, 2012 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and will range from Single Camera smaller events to Mutli-Camera Full Productions.
The AudioGlobe Project fund the cost of these Engineers to capture these events and deliver them to the world, all at no cost to the Artist, or to supplement Large Productions.
Founded in 2009 by Jon Joye and Tom Fortune, AudioGlobe.com started as a platform for Artists to fight piracy, and has since grown into a fully-featured Web Application and Archive, where Live Music Fans can re-live the experience of the live event, giving Artists, Venues, Producers, and Media Engineers a new and exciting platform to promote their content.
Realizing that in order to guarantee quality and rapidness, AudioGlobe had to produce it's own content, while developing a stream lined production workflow that facilitated growing our team and Archive rapidly. Our answer was the Media Acquisition Group (MAG) and The Media Engineer.
In 2010, Jordan Inglee, AudioGlobe Chief Production Officer and Lead Media Engineer, began multi-tracking local artists around Portland, OR for FREE. By not charging the bands, Jordan was able to build relationships with the artists and acquire the expertise to produce high-quality on-location recordings rapidly, while providing a constant stream of content into our system.
Not to mention, if the recording came out horrible, offering the service for FREE gave use some wiggle room to perfect our process.
As the shows got bigger, and the process became smoother, HD Video Archival and Broadcasting were added and soon our team and expertise began to grow to the point of compensation. In order to take it to the next level, AudioGlobe began to charge on a show by show basis to help facilitate the growing team of crew and gear, while still offering lower costs than anyone in town.
Now, AudioGlobe offers a wide range of affordable production services to Artists, Event Producers, and Venues to guarantee the highest-quality content, while offering marketing and promotional tools.
But not all Artists can afford much in today's economy, and AudioGlobe wants to get back to it's roots; to record and capture the scene freely, without worrying about budgets, and trying to hit consistently high numbers of shows per month.
That's where you come in!
Why is this project important?
The evolution of the music business is shifting towards live music. This project is a catalyst in that evolution. Your donation will empower the underground music industry to succeed on the Internet as it evolves.
Why is it important that underground artists get access to create high-quality live music performances?
Live music has always been a great way to market an artists and is consistent with the shift towards live music, however, it is cost prohibitive to produce high-quality live audio/video productions with a rapid turnaround. Audioglobe provides artists that access, essentially giving them a fair chance as popular bands to grow their fan base and make money.
So, essentially, they get a equal chance as the popular bands, bringing the cost down (free) of high quality production.
So they can use their expertise to build the relationships with the artists and acquire the know how to connect with unsigned artists.
From the kickstarter project, you get a exclusive Digital Samplers and physical DVDs that will not be available anywhere else. We also have some very cool VIP access passes - you can even do some camera work for us.
