Atta Boy began to coalesce upon the introduction of vocalist, Eden Brolin when, one day, she accompanied Thompson & Reish to Rancho Park. Upon witnessing a uncountably large murder of crows, they decided upon the title of their first song, the unreleased demo, "Crows".

Shortly thereafter, Reish was at Sunset Junction, where he ran into drummer, Lewis Pullman. On their way to different shows, they greeted, parted ways & encountered each other later than night during a set by Ghostland Observatory. Discussing the dissolution of Pullman's previous band, Animal Husbandry, Reish commented that Thompson, Brolin, and he were currently in the process of writing new material.

Pullman invited the group over to his house for what amounted to the one, and only, official practice of Atta Boy with all four members present. (See the rewards section for one of thirty-five handmade cassettes of this first session.)

During that rehearsal, three songs were immediately written, including "Boxes" off their debut EP.

Atta Boy is looking forward to the opportunity to record a full-length record, and this campaign will provide the resources to help engineer, produce, and press the record, allowing the liberty to refine and compose the album. After recording their debut EP in a single day, Atta Boy planned to gain more flexibility in developing their follow-up album. The success of this campaign will allow the band to approach the new record with a thoughtful pace, a greater maturity, and the latitude to deliver on each track as well as possible.

The amount requested will cover material costs for rewards, including vinyl pressing available here for copies to send to supporters of the band. A quarter of the money will be going to fulfilling the rest of the material rewards (t-shirts, silk-screening inks, etc...) for all of our supporters. The remainder will serve to fund the production & engineering of the record.
