About this project
My name is Allison Torneros & I'm a visual artist based in Los Angeles, CA. For my first major solo exhibition, which opens on Dec. 3rd 2011, I will transform the entire space of Hold Up Art Gallery into one big, colorful, psychedelic dreamscape during the month of December.
EXPLAIN?
For my solo show titled 'Streams of Subconsciousness', I'll be painting a completely new body of work--at least 60 pieces--on wood, paper, and canvas that attempt to capture the essence and emotions of dreaming. To make this an amazing show to remember, l'll also be taking a departure from the work I usually do: I plan to transform the entire gallery itself into a dream-like surreal space through LED lights and plexiglass installations, creating an immersive experience that would *hopefully* make one feel as if they're inside one of my paintings.
I don't want to give away too much about what the end product will look like, because I don't want to ruin the big surprise. Just take a look at this hastily-made (and seemingly random, but not to me) mood board to get your oh-so-funky imagination going:

Your support, in any way you'd like to give it, really! Feel free to give me hugs and high-fives, but funding is what I'm looking for specifically. I'll need at least $4,000 to make this show the very best it can be.
WHATCHA GONNA USE THE $ FOR?
5% - Printing Costs
10% - Painting Materials & Surfaces (Wood, canvases, paint, brushes)
10% - Frames
50% - Acrylic Plexiglass Sheets and related materials
25% - LED Lights

Yes! Part of the $4,000 raised will go towards shipping costs.

The poster print and limited edition giclee will be based on brand new pieces from the upcoming solo show--but since a good majority of the pieces in my show haven't been made yet, I can't show you anything. I'll update all my backers as soon as I have them.

Yes my pieces will be for sale, and there will be something for every price range. I have larger pieces going for $600 - $2000+, and smaller pieces starting at $30. I will also be selling prints and merchandise at the show.

T-shirts and prints will be shipped out in December, after the opening night of the show. Original pieces will be shipped out in February (to allow me time to create your original works of art). At the end of the fundraising period, I will contact all my backers to get their information for shipping, t-shirt sizes, etc.
