What is Chalk It Up?
Chalk It Up is a free, family-friendly event that promotes the importance of art education and proudly exhibits San Antonio's creative vivacity by providing hands-on activities led by professional art educators, as well as interactions with contemporary artists.
Artpace remains passionate about giving people an opportunity to explore their relationship with not only contemporary art, but their hometown community.
Over the course of Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 10am-4pm, the historic Houston Street will experience a creative awakening and quickly become the "chalk" of the town as Feature and Showcase artists join in demonstrating San Antonio's creativity.
What began as a blank, urban canvas of sidewalk and asphalt will morph into a colorful chalk tapestry created and admired by the community of San Antonio and beyond.
We hope you will consider helping Artpace exercise our commitment to empowering our community by providing free access to creative activities designed to engage and embolden young audiences.
