I first want to thank the 7 backers so far that have donated a total of $270.00 to date. Your support and amazing words are so appreciated!
I do hope that I reach my goal of $1,300.00 for my airfare to Finland. This residency is a dream come true for me. The level of importance for this residency is at a much deeper, personal level then what i have written in my project statement. If you would like, please email me and I will explain the depth of it.
I am getting slightly nervous that I won't reach my goal and this dream will be shattered.So please, help me reach my goal for an airline ticket. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Susan Berkowitz is an award winning Fine Artist, whose artistic process focus’s on alternative photography methods, Dry Polaroid Transfers, Polaroid Emulsion Lift Off Transfers, and Gel Transfers
Originally from the East Coast, Berkowitz relocated to Los Angeles, California 5 years ago. Prior to her move to Los Angeles, Berkowitz resided in several states throughout the country as well as Florence, Italy. During her travels she completed her studies, explored other cultures, worked with children with special needs, and created and exhibited her art.
Berkowitz’s degrees are the following: The Corcoran School of Art, Washington, DC Bachelor of Fine Arts/Photography- 1995, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond Virginia and Lorenzo Di’ Medici School of Art, Florence, Italy: Master of Fine Art/ Photography-1999, Rio Salado College, Tempe, Arizona-2005 certification in special education-cross category.
I want to thank everyone for the donations and supportive, kind words. It is all sinking in still and with realization that in a few short weeks, because of the 16 backers, I will be creating art in Finland.I have never attempted to do this type of fundraiser before. I have done many for others, mostly special ed kids, ALS patients and animals, I have learned so much from this entire process. I promise not to let you down! Many of you have heard from me in the past 24 hours individually , I the few I have not contacted yet, I will do so today. You have all helped an artist, you beleive in me and my dedication to my craft and career, thank you.
