We are Artists at Play, a theatre-producing collective of creative professionals in the Los Angeles area.  This fall, we will be presenting the Los Angeles premiere of Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them, a play by A. Rey Pamatmat.  

After the success of our inaugural production Ching Chong Chinaman and keeping with our mission statement of curating quality works missing from the local landscape, we are thrilled to share with you another Los Angeles premiere of another exciting new play by another up-and-coming playwright.

Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them revolves around Kenny, his sister Edith, and their friend Benji, who are all but abandoned on a farm in remote Middle America.  With little adult supervision, they care for each other, making up the rules as they go.  But when Kenny’s relationship with Benji becomes more than friendship and Edith shoots something she really shouldn’t have, the formerly indifferent outside world comes barging in whether they want it to or not.

Our show is set for a 4-weekend run in October-November 2012. We have set our Kickstarter goal at $5000, which will roughly cover venue rental and rehearsal fees, along with stipends for our creative team. 

With our sophomore outing, we are still aiming to create entertaining and challenging work that is accessible to anyone and everyone, and we are so excited to introduce Edith to you and the Los Angeles theatre community. As we continue to grow and develop, we thank you for your continued support!
