About this project

• Sderot is less than one kilometer – only 10 city blocks – from Gaza • Between 2001-2009 there were over 7,500 rockets launched into Sderot • Homes have been destroyed. Schools have been damaged. Innocent lives have been lost • Still, over 20,000 residents remain in this town For them, we propose Murality. Murality joins the words “mural” and “morality” to display an idea of justice within and through art.

The world media presents a view that the arts community does not speak out to support Israel’s right to exist. Artists 4 Israel is prepared to prove otherwise in bold, dramatic statements.

New York’s most famous and talented graffiti artists will travel to Israel as artistic emissaries. Once there, they will be joined by their Israeli counterparts to create murals as gifts of inspiration. They will turn places of suffering into memorials of hope. Our first Murality mission is to Sderot. Artists 4 Israel is sending America’s most famous graffiti and street artists to Sderot, on the border of the Gaza Strip to battle terror and rockets with art and messages of unity. Help these creative individuals turn bomb shelters and bombed out buildings into living installations of art and watch them paint the Israeli Security Fence with messages of hope and peace.

We are inspired by the children who paint bomb shelters with bright images of play. Our artists will turn bombed out buildings and homes into living installations of art. Together, with local children and the community, we will transform the grim reminders of terrorism into soaring masterpieces of artistic expression, showing that Sderot is, as always, a city of justice and beauty.

Along the way, the artists hope to share their gift with as many of Israel’s residents as possible. They will tour the country, learning about Israel’s rich history, turning our well respected artists into advocates for Israel...

With the cost flights and paint, each mural will cost $800 to produce. We are looking to cover the city in murals, so the more that we can raise, the more that we will be able to help the city.
