We just received the quote for making our speaker Bluetooth! And I am adding more rewards to reflect the Bluetooth version of the speaker. With the goal as it stands we will be able to redirect some funding and make sure the Bluetooth is created for the Oakman-Accent 'B' model.

I was fed up of the choices of Apple device and smart phone plug-in speakers, so just like many of us here on Kickstarter I took matters into my own hands to change the situation, though to be honest, it took a synchronistic event to kickstart the creation.

Introduction

Hi my name is Andrew Jones, I have been a designer and inventor for as long as I can remember. I have created speaker enclosures since the age of 16. Today I create furniture by hand and one day not too long ago I was visiting my friend Don, helping him with his computer, when he pulled out a very sad looking speaker which he played his guitar through. I had been toying with an idea I have had for a while and told him I would make something he could use for his guitar. A week later the prototype was created and the video on this page shows Don enjoying the rechargeable speaker design, the Oakman Accent.

What we didn't know is that the sound system would become a hit with everyone that saw and heard it, and it wasn't long before the requests were coming in for specific features to be included. Types of inputs, Bluetooth, output features and other design elements people were asking for from our product.

So I decided to go full steam ahead in the creation of the new series, called the "Oakman Accent".

A beautiful hand crafted, fully customized wood speaker with great natural tonal qualities that is a classy product, period. There is a difference when you order something that is mass produced, verses something that is hand crafted with you in mind. There is such pride in the work I create, each unit is an extension of me, my abilities and love for what I do.

With this in mind I am wanting to create Oakman-Audio Studios, a workshop that creates eco friendly speakers made to blend beautifully into your home or office while not draining the environment by using sustainable resources and reclaimed woods and recycled tire rubber.

Typical uses

The phase 1 speaker here will work with almost any smart phone or audio device with a headphone jack (base model) or Bluetooth (upgraded model) can be plugged into the Oakman Accent, or with the Bluetooth mode being created, simply sync your mobile device or computer to the speaker and enjoy no wires, hassle free playing for hours. The speaker design is such that it is a classy addition to any party, event or occasion. It's design is such it adds to the beauty of your home or office.

With the phase 2 speaker, your guitar can plug right into our Oakman Accent (guitar version) this speaker acts as a guitar amp and regular smart phone hook up to enjoy your music by.

Accidentally, I found that the mediation timer App on my iPhone sounds fantastic on the Oakman Accent. Along with its very Zen looking style of design, it's a perfect addition to your mediation time.

First Steps (Funding)

• We need car tire rubber feet mold creation and production run
• New wood planer and routing tools
• Speaker electronics fine tuning and production run minimum

This campaign is my life, it is a summary of everything I have been dreaming of for the last few years. I see the possibilities as far greater than these humble beginnings. So many of the speakers out there for the iPhone, iPad and beyond are made of plastic and there is no craftsmanship, period. Almost everything out there today is mass produced, plastic molded and has built in obsolescence. I want to change that with our range of handcrafted audio speakers. Plastic and metal designs sound like plastic and metal, but our wood designs sound naturally great, and we have not even tried yet to increase the performance of the sound system which is our next phase.

Our first steps are to manufacture the audio guts of the design, we are looking at 3 companies to help us with that, whoever we feel has the best interest of our business in mind will win the day, but this comes at a price, as does the raw wood materials we use to create these masterpieces, along with a new table saw and wood planing machines and wood routers.

We also need to pay for legal costs that will help place us on the map and get some minor advertising going. The most expensive part if this to date will be the manufacturing and the minimal payments required to get that going which will be a 30 to 60 day turnaround we are told.

Moving forward

To achieve this goal will mean the world to me. I know we are onto something incredible. For this to become a success would be a true accomplishment.
