Three children and some inquisitive birds create a wonderful moment out of love and bird seed. A holiday message in four languages.

Who We Are

John Littleboy, the artist of all things Artiphany, calls the blank sheet
of paper which begins every idea “the tantalizing void.” A single line-fat, thin or hesitant- begins the game of making an idea visible where there was nothing. The characters which emerge from this conversation between artist and image have produced an entertaining, affordable and widely available array of  products. Eager audiences can now be found in Tokyo, New York, San Francisco, Amsterdam and many points in-between for these small treasures of visual delight.

Prior to starting Artiphany, Littleboy was creating privately commissioned murals, portraits and exhibiting his paintings in galleries in New York allowing him to develop as a writer, designer and web marketing strategist.  Littleboy studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and graduated from Stanford University. He lives in San Francisco.

About the Project

The story begins in a grove of pine trees. It’s winter. Three children are walking together over the snowy ground. We see them from above, through the branches of the trees. The children emerge into a clearing and each pulls a small bag from their pockets and begins sprinkling some material on the ground around them. Their actions are careful and deliberate. The birds in the branches above take notice and flutter down to the children, settling where the bird seed has been arranged.

As they settle, you realize the children have spelled a word with the bird seed. The children scatter the birds into the air. The word appears for a moment as the birds leave the ground until they disperse across the sky in all directions. This is a message we want to share globally, so we’ll create a version in which the word is spelled in Mandarin, English, Spanish and Arabic.

Where the Funds Will Go

The funds that we raise will cover the cost of two animators and a musician to create an original score. We want you to be part of this project which will promote a very positive message. When it’s finished, you can share the project you’ve help fund by sending your personalized e-card to your friends and your family.

We have some rewards we think you’ll like, so check them out. And we’ll be sharing our creative experience with you through periodic updates.

Thanks very much for your time.

About Kickstarter

If you're new to Kickstarter, this is how it works:

Kickstarter is a funding platform focused on a broad spectrum of creative projects. It is powered by a unique all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands.

Rewards are what backers receive in exchange for pledging to a project, and every project’s primary rewards are related to the project itself.
