You get an invitation to be a founding member of the site on March 1st. This means you'll be able to set up screenings of any of the films on the site. Regular video updates demonstrating the OpenIndie functions we are designing before they go live on the site so you have the chance to provide feedback via the comments. For those who with experience developing websites this could be fun to watch and very valuable to OpenIndie to be getting feedback along the way so we really truly are building this together. * In the first few months we may have to limit the number of screenings that users put on to 1 per week so we can be sure to not strain our servers too much too fast.
In addition to early membership to the site and regular updates of the sites development that allow you to provide input on each function we design, you'll also get a Four Eyed Monsters Music CD mailed to you. OpenIndie's distribution method is based on the distribution of Four Eyed Monsters that utilized this same method we now see Paranormal Activity using which OpenIndie will bring to all filmmakers. The ability to collect demand for a film to then organically bring the film to that area. So in celebration of Four Eyed Monsters, all 15 dollar backers get a DVD mailed to them provided they are in the US, Canada or the UK.
Invitation to post your film on OpenIndie.com starting April 15th. Once live you'll be able to import fans that will get messaged anytime a screening of your film is booked in their area. You'll also be able to collect demand for your film by spreading around a special link where people can request screenings of your film in their town. You'll also get donation button to allow hosts of your film and any audience member to make a donation to you. Plus once launched in June you'll get all of the new functionality of the OpenLicense that further empowers the OpenIndie community to distribute your film. In addition you'll also receive 1 hour of free consulting with Arin Crumley per 100 dollars that you contribute to OpenIndie.com where you'll receive social media marketing advice on how to further your film career.
