Got my survey and filled it out. Just want to be sure it is noted I pledged the extra $25 to get 2 copies of the book. That wasn't covered in the survey. Should be obvious from my pledge amount but wanted to make sure it got noticed.

As long as we get more cool stuff from Arc Dream in the future (Kickstarter or not), I'm happy!

    15. Editlogo.small

Creator Arc Dream Publishing on August 23, 2012

In this case the timing got tricky. Greg and I (Shane) ran up into GenCon in the last two weeks of the project and that devoured everything. Especially since I had some personal crises come up during the con. So right around the time we hit the $15K target, we ran out of time to build more imaginiative targets.

But that's nothing to complain about. This is going to be a gorgeous book and it has gotten all the support from backers that I could want and more!

    16. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Jonathan Bristow on August 23, 2012

@Thom It's either that or over-time budgeted. We filled out the goal and all of the stretch goals too quickly, and then interest seemed to stall out as the KS went on. It's a tough call deciding what the proper time length/goal will get the funding done. If you're going to have a long Kickstarter, you need to keep the backers engaged to both spread word of mouth and pledge increases. Short kickstarters have a more challenging road, but may be better for a project that has less means for increasing backer interaction.

    19. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator AsenRG on August 22, 2012

I'd support the idea for a stretch goal about converting to other settings, which might require adding WT-style powers to the mix.

If we get any new stretch goals in the last few days can we have one that's already been reached between 15k and 18k? ;)

    24. Missing_small

Creator Ian McFarlin on August 19, 2012

I'd like to second (or third or whatever) the idea of pre-made Heroes. They're basically the monsters of the game, in that they're statted-out creatures that the GM has to run for the players to fight. Stats for cops and armed forces would be good, too, especially if either has a special anti-super-being force within it.

Could we get a stretch goal for extra stories along similar lines to "Me, and Karish-Nephet the Defiler?"

    27. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Skipper Harris on August 15, 2012

Here's a thought, can we get a peek at a rules sample? Something that would give an idea of what is already in the book? Might help point out areas for expansion via stretch goals.

And the suggestions for premade heroes and villains to populate the world does sound good.

    28. Mirko.small

Creator Mirko Hess on August 15, 2012

Hm...last Stretch was passed 6 days ago. Hopefully another will surface soon...might help picking up pace again.

    29. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Steven Thesken on August 14, 2012

Maybe at $18k, we can get an angelic super team added to the book? That would be a big help to GMs needing to oppose the villains. Or a selection of appropriate death traps?

    30. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Doug Grimes on August 14, 2012

Flip this 'demons in good people' concept around and you've got a pretty good reason for Anti-Heroes - Angels inhabiting the bodies of not-so-good people 'to help them become better by fighting evil.' At least it's something to think about.

    34. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Max Nevill on August 11, 2012

Also, I'm not sure, but if mortals can be capable obstacles/antagonists, I think playing that up would be important too.

    35. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Max Nevill on August 11, 2012

1.) I think some fully fleshed out AU world building information would be very helpful to me as the likely GM of such a game.

2.) Fleshed out demons ready to use

      3.) Premade super hero groups

4.) Some higher donation packages for naming some characters in the setting? I've seen that one around i.e. pay $500 and get to name the Evil Evil bad guy etc.

I'd also be curious about a conversion package to Mutants and Masterminds 3rd Edition, which I already own.

    36. Missing_small

Creator chris roames on August 11, 2012

I see a rules conversion to other ORE games as the most useful and essential addition. To me, the strength and appeal of the system has been its cross-compatibility with all of the other games out there, allowing us to have a system as simple or as complex as we'd each prefer; each game emulates a different mood/theme.
I've always wanted Wild Talents to have more RP driving systems like A Dirty World and Better Angels seems to mix that with powers well (at least what I've seen so far).

    37. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Andrew Stevenson on August 10, 2012

I love worldbuilding. Having a cool prebuilt setting with an alternate history of Important Superdudes, in the same manner as Godlike and Wild Talents, would be pretty great.

      Stretch goals:
      1) Superheros/Supergroups to face
      2) Prebuilt demons with backstory/mythology (to attach to PCs or NPCs)
      4) Rival villians
      5) Second (e?)book with all the NPC files/GM stuff separated from the rules & world intro
      3) Conversions from other ORE games (Dirty World/Wild Talents/Monsters etc)

But apparently I forgot that there were multiple adventures or adventure seeds as stretch goals already... sheesh. How about a soundtrack?

    41. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator James Kiley on August 10, 2012

I'd vote for an adventure as a stretch goal.

Rules for integrating with Wild Talents would delightful, I think.

    43. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Barac Baker Wiley on August 10, 2012

I'm definitely interested in more adventures and/or fiction, and some supporting NPCs of whatever type certainly wouldn't hurt. Um...rules for WIld Talents/Better Angels conversions (in either direction)? Bonus copies of Wild Talents? (I already own it, but other people might not.) At a higher level, some sort of full on supplement? Just spitballing here.

    44. Missing_small

Creator Ironicus on August 9, 2012

The first priority should be improving the book further; more art, higher quality printing, better layout, etc. More adventures would be nice, possibly turning the 7k goal into the first part of a trilogy. I like the dice idea, too. Custom dice would be really nifty but just having a handful of generic d10s would be nice too.

Creator Mark Simulacra on August 9, 2012

"I'd love to see all of the prior (future) stretch goals (not counting the web-app) added into the Better Angels RPG since it will now be a sturdier hardback and can support the added pages." -Chris

I've got to second MidnightBlue's suggestion, it'd be really cool to have all of the previous/future stretch goals rolled together into the hardcover if at all reasonable (and provided that it'll stay well formatted.)

    46. Fb_profile_picture.small

      Yes to superhero foes.

    47. 3100454.small

Creator gary mitchel on August 9, 2012

I agree with Thom Rowe: Some pre-made superhero groups to go up against would be nice. Some statted out, others just listed with locations/personality.

Also: Donate enough, and you get to be an NPC. Hero/Villain/Contact, etc, your choice from a list. A follow-up world/scenario book. Custom dice. A HAT ("I gave in to my Better Angels" "I joined with a demon and only got this stupid hat", etc) (These could also work as buttons).

    49. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Andrew Stevenson on August 9, 2012

It's a pipe dream, but it'd be nice to see some short comics thrown in the book to help set the tone. You can never have enough art!
