Electronics arrived, Units shipping!
Hey everyone! We've got great news. The electronics have finally arrived from China!

We're assembling the custom units, and shipping these and the early backer units in full on Monday. Huzzah!

The other units will follow as we're able to cut them. The two new laser cutters are running 24/7. We should have every unit shipped out in full in time for christmas delivery.

@Chris: We're still shipping out units, cutting is still taking longer than we thought. If you'd like to know the status of your unit, we'd recommend emailing help@arcbotics.com

Did you succeed in shipping everything in december? I hope you managed to save some time for festivities. Some fireworks would surely be in order after shipping it all!
(..But I haven't heard or seen anything about my unit yet.. But I'm all the way in Switzerland..)

@Carlos: We're shipping according to pledge date and backing type. We'll be clarifying shipping schedule in our update tonight.
@Jeffery: Gunther has it right, we'll be also posting further clarification in our update tonight.

Hello Joseph. Do You have a schedule about the shiping of the Hexy? will I recieve it soon? Thanks you.
Creator Gunther on December 3
@Jeffrey they stated in previous update they would ship out a number of kits first to distributers (something about honoring agreements and try to "cash in"a bit on the xmas sales).
But it might be good for the team here to provide a bit of info.
This is one of the common issues with projects like this, they are (hopefully) very busy, but fail often to see how good it would be to take every 3 day's 5 or 10 minutes or so to post little update , even if it's only confirming "no change".

The MakerShed website is currently offering "Hexy the Hexipod" with "Availability: Usually Ships in 24 to 48 Hours". I am assuming this is somehow incorrect since I'd expect all of us backers to receive their units before they are commercially available. Clarification please?

Great update! Looking forward to imminent bot arrival.
Creator Jan de Vries on November 25
Maybe you can update us every week how many units have been shipped? (Including grand total)

@Greg: This was all in our updates, btw
Creator ArcBotics on November 23, 2012
@Greg: We were initially attempting to have the plastic pieces produced in China. That fell through, and then we ordered the acrylic (which at 2000lbs takes a couple weeks), and started cutting. Then our cutter caught fire, and we had to get new cutters. We now have new cutters and are cutting them 24/7.
Creator Greg Rudisel on November 23, 2012
Why are you only cutting the plastic parts now? I can understand the delay in the electronics but the plastic parts design must have been worked out months ago. The plastic parts could have been completed waiting on the electronics and shipped as soon as they were received.

This is awesome news. Thanks for the update
Creator Gunther on November 11, 2012
good news :)
alignment seams not the strongest point in the board fab :)
speaking of shipping, no idea many non-us orders you have, but I know from experience that clearing customs here in Belgium from end November / begin December onwards takes a long time, often delaying it a month or so...
