We've launched an exciting new project of our own! Introducing the Kickstarter app for iPhone!

Funded! This project successfully raised its funding goal on May 24, 2012.

Finalists Announced! Now you choose our next label design for our first Public Brew!

Update #22 · Mar 18, 2013 · comment
Hey Everyone,

We launched our first Public Brew about a month ago asking our community to “Name a Scotch Ale…” on our Facebook page. More than 150 submissions were reduced to 7 finalists and over 470 votes determined the Scotch Ale’s future name: William Wallace Wrestle Fest.

For the past month, we have been accepting label design submissions from our community and posting them on our website as they are submitted. Today, we announce the following finalists for the label design challenge: From top left, clockwise: Tom Burns, Drew Wise, Rei Estrada, Matt LaFleurTom Burns, Drew Wise, Rei Estrada, Matt LaFleur

Voting for the winning design has begun on our Facebook page. William Wallace Wrestle Fest Design Challenge

While clicking the like button of the design will cast a vote, we will consider the amount of shares and comments for each image as well. Voting for the winning design will end March 24th at 11:59 PM. The winning design will receive $300 from us and become the official label for William Wallace Wrestle Fest.

As many of you already know, we plan to keep our community in the loop during the recipe development of the beer, taking into consideration suggestions to fine tune the beer’s attributes to your liking. What’s up next for Arcade? We've recently announced our location, brewing out of Ale Syndicate Brewers' brewery starting in 2013. The collaborative model allows us to start up operations, essentially renting brewing space, to develop our beers and brand, while working towards opening up our own facility in the near future.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support and we can't wait to get those first beers in your hands in 2013!

Cheers,

Chris and Lance

Label Design Challenge launched for our first Public Brew

Update #21 · Feb 15, 2013 · comment

Last week we launched the Phase 1 of our first Public Brew on our Facebook Page, asking you all to provide a name for the naming challenge. Over 150 entries were whittled down to 7 finalists and 473 votes later William Wallace Wrestle Fest was declared the winner (167 votes). Congratulations to George Henner from Chicago, IL for creating a fun name that will surely lead to some amazing artwork.

Now, we turn to all designers out there. It's your chance to create an original label design based off the William Wallace Wrestle Fest name that could appear on the label. If your design wins, you get $300!** That sounds pretty awesome, right? The competition begins Friday, February 15th and all entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM on Friday, March 15th. We can't wait to see what designs you all come up with for the William Wallace Wrestle Fest Scotch Ale!

Get started now by going to our Design Challenge page. There you can find all the information you need as well as download a Design Challenge Packet. Click here to check it out!

Not a designer? Help spread the word by sharing this challenge with friends or people in the design community.

Since this is our first Public Brew attempt, we would appreciate any feedback throughout the process to make this the best possible experience for everyone. We know our systems won’t be perfect the first time around, but still want to hear from you. Shoot us your questions/comments to our Community Feedback Forum or info@arcadebrewery.com

At Arcade Brewery, we love getting you involved in the creation of our beers, from Conception to Consumption™

 Cheers,

First Public Brew Design Competition Launched!

Update #20 · Feb 4, 2013 · comment

While we work to open our doors, we wanted to reach out to you all and call on your talents to help us create our first Public Brew. If you didn't know, our Public Brews will be beers created collaboratively with our community on a seasonal basis. Since the process takes some time (implementing the label design competition, recipe development, federal label approval, etc.), we need to get the ball rolling months ahead of the actual launch of the beer.

We think you'll enjoy our "backward-design" model with these brews: starting with the artwork and designing a beer that pairs with it. Also, you get to participate and observe the whole process, From Conception to Consumption™!

Here's how it works:

  • We throw out a beer style to get the conversation started - you give us name ideas.
  • We whittle down the list to a number that is easy to vote on - the winning name's creator will get a prize-pack from Arcade Brewery!
  • We reach out to the design community. We provide a template for the label and design parameters, you provide the awesome artwork. We post the results in our community section on Arcade Brewery's website. The winning designer receives $300 cash from Arcade Brewery! (Terms and Conditions apply)
  • We start crafting up the beer recipe and reach out to you for feedback as we go.
  • We take care of the rest and will update you on every step of the way. We'll let you know where the beer is in the process and when it ships from our facility.
  • Enjoy your beer!

Last week we launched a naming challenge on our Facebook page for a Scotch Ale. There is still time to submit your entry for the naming contest. To submit this entry, simply enter it on the comment section of this thread. The deadline for all entries will be Tuesday, February 5th at 11:59 PM. This is our first Public Brew attempt and would appreciate feedback throughout to make this the best possible experience for everyone. Shoot us your questions/comments to our design forum or info@arcadebrewery.com.

Just a reminder - On online store is now open!  If you missed the Kickstarter you can still support us through a purchase at our online store.  Plus, we've added some new stuff that wasn't available to Kickstarter backers...Start shopping now!

Cheers,

Chris and Lance

Update: Brewery Status, Website Store, Tony Moore Designs

Update #19 · Jan 27, 2013 · comment

It's been almost 7 months since many of you contributed generously to our Kickstarter campaign. Since then, we have been working hard brewing test-batches (Chris graduated from the Seibel Institute in Brewing Technology), commissioning artists, reworking concepts, bringing in amazing people to join our team, pitching to investors, and getting legal.

We will soon reveal our location and many more details to you all, but need to respect the legal process with our partnerships at this time.

As we continue to get the last of the paperwork and planning in order, we hope that you all continue your support of Arcade Brewery by visiting our new online shop opening in the next few days. Your support will help us with the final push to get Arcade Brewery off the ground later this Spring, not to mention getting some awesome gear.

Our website is going through redevelopment so that our online content and community can go through our website. Including expanded forum features, profile options, and of course the new store. If you haven't signed up for an account yet, make sure you do so today. It takes about 30 seconds and only requires an email and password.

Many of you have been curious on the status of the Tony Moore prints.  We spoke to Tony last week and he has been working hard on the designs since the legal battle over The Walking Dead (that initially delayed process).  We expect to have the final designs from Tony the second week in February and are going to work with his studio to get the prints prepared as soon as possible for your enjoyment.

It's been a long journey to get to this moment, but we are pumped to get going and deliver everyone in Chicago (and beyond) a unique and delicious craft beer experience.

Cheers,

Chris and Lance

A download of the game POP for Mac or PC. POP is an experimental game in the most literal sense. The game was purposefully built in way that explores a different approach to the typical game development pipelines. It was developed by first approaching the music and running with the first game concept that happened to emerge during that creative process. This game goes perfect with beer and is a ton of fun. You'll also get all 3 stickers! Watch a trailer for the game here! http://vimeo.com/41401097
