Hi All,

Thank you, all of you who contributed to our latest fundraising online push. We reached our goal and we are STOKED to report that we finally have all of the content IN PLACE. We have music, we have animation, titles, archives...all the story content is there. So, again, a special thank you to those who contributed one final time to the project, enabling us to pay our musicians and animators.

So now what?

1`) We will send the film to a few key people for feedback before locking everything into place. We've spent 2 1/2 years on this so might as well make sure it's the best it can be, eh? Why rush to the finish if we don't have to.

2) We do some additional (offline) fundraising so that we can pay for the polish of the film: sound design, dialogue editing, music mix, sound mix & master and color correction. These are the remaining steps to complete the film entirely.

3) We have already started submitting the film to festivals. All we can do now on that front is wait and see. As soon as we get into a festival (it could be this year or early next year) we will let you know. That is when we will premiere the film and start sending out the DVD rewards.

Hello Everyone,

We know that we've been sending out more updates than normal these past couple of weeks, but we wanted to share an exciting event with you: Jimmy will be interviewed live and will read his poetry this Friday night, 8 PM at the Kimo Theater in Albuquerque. And if you're planning on going, can you help us out? We will be handing out flyers about A Place to Stand before and after the event and need some extra hands to join our efforts. If you come along, you'll get a chance to hang out with Gabe Baca, A Place to Stand's producer, and even meet Jimmy. And last, we're still working hard to raise the $5,450 we need by May 1st to finish a final rough cut of the entire documentary. We have already raised $1,000 and have $2,000 in pledges on the way. That means we only need another $2,450 and we are SET! Can you help us reach this goal? Your support would allow us to complete the film's animation, original score and final sound mix. Hello Again!

Since last Friday, when we launched our final fundraising push, we have already raised $640 with an additional $1000 pledge en route. This means we only need to raise $3,810 more by May 1st and we will be able to complete the final rough cut of the movie. We are so grateful for the burst of support, but we know from experience that we need to keep this energy alive.
