INTRODUCING

The Sketchboard

It’s a single sheet of metal that carries a roll of tracing paper and gives you a flat surface to draw on. It makes ripping the paper easy whilst offering a new canvas after you've rumpled your last sketch.

THE STORY

I can't draw.

Studying product design without a decent drawing skill is a lot of work. It takes hours for me to make a drawing presentable. So i tried to come up with a product, that makes me a better drawer by making it easier to draw.

Allways there

After you rumpled your last sketch, theres a blank paper staring at you. So you just need to start drawing when an idea comes up. It's allways there! No more searching for paper or making room on the table to unroll the tracing paper. At least for me, it has worked: I draw a lot more since i have it on my table!

Ergonomics

When you draw on a flat table the wrist joint is bend down, which is not really comfortable. The 20 degree lift of the drawing surface helps your wrist joint to stay straight while drawing. You will also get a straighter view on the paper, so you dont have to bend over the table to get a ninety degree look on your draft.

WHAT CAN I DO TO SUPPORT THE SKETCHBOARD?

I found a great company that's willing to produce the Sketchboard for us. But the production of a single piece would cost more than $200 because of the initial costs to set up the workflow.

If they could produce one hundred or more, the price will reduce dramatically!

HOW CAN I GET THE SKETCHBOARD?

The producer is just waiting for my call. Everything is settled, so they will start the production as soon as i know how many they can make.

This is the Europe & World version, the US version is 25mm thinner due to the smaller paper rolls.
