What's 'Deleminus' about? 

'Deleminus' chronicles the lives of Zacharias Webb and Violet Bisbee as they make a discovery that will change their lives and their neighborhood forever.  They find that magic is not bound to the human imagination. It is alive, well, and flourishing right under their noses. As a result of their initial encounter, Zach is branded by a peculiar metallic crest, a long retired headmistress reopens a very old school, and other events unfold that expose an ancient evil which seeks to eradicate the race of men once and for all. 

What sets it apart from other fantasies? 

I've poured much of myself into this book.  Having a BA in Religious Studies has given me a deep seated appreciation for creation stories of all kinds.  In creating Lohm (the world of 'Deleminus'), I have provided room for the readers' imagination while attempting to develop a history and origin story for what magic is and how it came to us. 

'Deleminus' is a coming of age tale that mixes high fantasy with real-to-life adventure.  It explores magic in a way that is seldom seen in works of literature today.  I have written this book with people of all ages and demographics in mind.  If you are nine or one hundred and ninety-nine, there is something for you to enjoy whether it is the whimsical telling of the tale or its rich symbolism. 

Why Kickstarter? 

I've seen many dreams come true on Kickstarter.  In my neighborhood, there is a doughnut shop that has opened and is doing very well as the result of the generous support given on Kickstarter. 

We have all of the imagination and creativity that we need.  Now, we need money to bring this book to life.  We plan to self-publish to maintain the integrity of this work.  Printing a good looking book costs money.  Also, there are costs for marketing 'Deleminus' so that it can reach beyond the metro-Atlanta area. We would like to buy a booth at next year's Decatur Book Festival. A booth is roughly $400.  As well, we would like to pay our editor and illustrator for their labors of love. We believe that we have something special.  Please consider bringing this dream to life.
