Hi Everyone!

The Annex Quartet is happy to announce that as of yesterday, May 16, 2013, the editing for Roaring Twenties album has been completed and this week it will be mixed and mastered. We anticipate its release for mid-June 2013 before our summer concerts begin on June 20. With that said, we'd like to ask everyone to give us a little bit of time to get all rewards out. For many of you this will be about a month later than what we anticipated, (Mid-late June instead of May) but you will get them and we believe you'll be very happy with the final product. 

We've compiled a list of email addresses from everyone who backed the project and we'll be getting in touch with each and every one of you to collect shipping addresses. If you have changed emails or would rather pick-up the rewards at some of our concerts (mainly our fans in Toronto) then let us know and we'll reserve it until we see you in person. 

We hope this small delay doesn't disappoint. We've been getting emails regarding it's release so here we are assuring you June 2013 is the month.

We wanted to give everyone an update on the current status of The Roaring Twenties Project. First off, the album was completed during first week of new years. We were in the studio from 2pm - 11pm and recorded three of Andrew Downing's arrangements and three of Hilario's - they both stopped by throughout the session and were of great help with assisting our producer, Roberto Occhipinti, with their vision on the arrangements. 

As of today, three of the tracks have been edited and we're looking forward to having another three done in the coming week. In addition, Heather Hermann (the artist) has sent us samples of the current stages of one of the art pieces going on the booklet. 

Finally- we've released our monthly magazine/newsletter featuring an interview with our first violinist, Stanislav Pronin, and an inside look at the Roaring Twenties Project. Click the link below to see the magazine in its flash mode.

Update: We're happy to report that half of the album has been recorded! The first half we recorded is the most diverse of all with a Dixieland tune from the 1920s, a Cuban Danzon from 1926, an Argentinian tango from the early 1930s, and Kurt Weill's cabaret sounds of 1920s Germany. The other half will be laid down in early January 2013.

I'm glad to report that we will be heading into the studio on October 12 to lay down the twelve tracks for the Roaring Twenteis album! We will be posting video footage of rehearsal's and behind the scenes footage from the studio.

Hi Everyone

We want to give our sincere thanks to everyone that came out in support of the project. That includes those who messaged us to let us know they couldn't donate but were helping spread the word and those were up at 2:00 AM getting their pledges in. In addition, many of you changed raised your pledges to help us get one step closer and it made all the difference. The last pledge came in between 2:15 - 2:30 AM right before the clock stopped! Amazing!!

I'm also happy to report that we have already began steps to move forward. We are looking at recording dates and times and have received the music for 9 out of the 12 tracks. We will be visiting Kickstarter on a regular basis to send out updates through text, photos, and videos. In addition, we will deliver all rewards on time!
