Thank you for taking a moment to learn about youandyouandyou and my very first Kickstarter campaign!

youandyouandyou will premiere November 16-19 at University Settlement, and will be performed in the historic building's 6th floor gymnasium (featured in the video above). I have been trying to put dance in this space since 2008 and so I'm delighted to finally have this opportunity.

youandyouandyou explores a movement vocabulary of effort and delicacy, the individual working as part of a collective “we,” a sense of abandon and of repose. The dancers seek the emotional resonance of their moving bodies, stretching their minds with movement and pushing the edges of the space. The concerns of this work are formal as well as theatrical. Structure and form are used to craft a space for meanings to be built, to accrue, and to dissolve. Performed by dancers Aoife McAtamney, Ariel Pierce, and myself, it features an original score by composer Nathan Koci, lighting design by Holly Ko, and costumes by Deborah Black.

The audience for each show will be limited to 40, allowing for an intimate experience of this unique space and the dance that it contains.

We can't do it without you!

The cost of creating a dance in a space not typically used as a performance venue is expensive. I am seeking to raise a minimum of $2,500 through Kickstarter in support of this project. This is just a fraction of my total fundraising goal of $10,000.

All the money raised through this Kickstarter project will go directly towards the costs of this production: dancer fees, composer and lighting designer fees, the cost of lighting equipment, and costume construction.
