An interactive horror play part George Romero part John Hughes. Join the prom of Glendale High. Drink some punch. Do the Hokey Pokey. Eat some brains.
AG Theatrical Productions (aka Brooklyn Innovative Theatre Experience or BITE) is preparing for its second New York production, Prom Night of the Living Dead!!
As part of the Shortened Attention Span 2010 Horror Festival at the historic Players Theatre in the West Village, our show will be held on the third weekend of October along with three other horror one-act plays in the same evening.
Prom Night of the Living Dead is an interactive horror theatre event equal parts George Romero and John Hughes. Come join Glendale High School's senior prom! Drink some punch. Do the Hokey Pokey. Eat your date's brains.
Ours is a fairly low budget show, but as we all know, nothing is done for free....especially not in New York. So, all proceeds from backers go towards rehearsal space, costumes, props, and marketing materials. In total, we hope to spend around $500. Because this is a festival show, we do not receive much money from the box office to supplement our production expenses, so almost our entire budget comes from YOUR support!
Here are some of our basic expenses:
Props, Costumes, Sets, etc--$200
This is the most modest budget based on the fact that some of the rehearsals can be held in our studio in Brooklyn and we are using resources from friends and cast members to cut costs of renting/buying costumes. But in an ideal world, our meager budget is just the beginning. The more you give, the more we can make this production shine. Of course, we need lots of blood and guts for the zombie attack!!! :)
We have produced a version of this show once before in Beijing (Death Prom) with great success and we hope that it can make an even bigger splash here in the city that never sleeps. We give a HUGE shout out to all those involved in the original show in Beijing and we hope that those of you who have migrated back to NYC can come see this "re-animated" version of our Halloween 2008 party hit!
With your help, we can cover the basic costs of production and create a marketing campaign that draws in the crowds to enjoy an evening of interactive horror theatrics.
And if you live in the New York area, come see us on stage: October 21-24 at the Players Theatre in the West Village.
