About this project
Dear friends
This July 3rd (24 days away!) I am embarking on a trip to visit my grandfather, Milos, in Doboj, Bosnia. The trip is pricey but time spent with my gramps in his garden, walking through the markets of Doboj and streets of my childhood is priceless. The last time I visited, almost three years ago, nothing gave me more pleasure, and captured my memories better than the watercolors I created while sitting amongst his raspberry bushes, pear trees or sipping Turkish coffee as my gramps retold the same stories over and over again only the way grandparents can.
As he is quite old (84 yet still very vibrant) this summer I decided to portray my grandfathers life and my family history with a series of postcard sized watercolors of our adventures the way no digital camera ever can. I need your help to acquire an amazing watercolor palette and quality brushes. My small aged palette is not up for the task (sadly) and any amount you donate will bring me closer to my modest goal (and check out the prizes for your support!!!).
I am aiming for a 12 - 24 color palette of high pigment colors, 4-6 sable hair brushes, postcard pads and watercolor paper. If I reach my goal 100% of your $ will go towards the acquisition of my materials and you will have fulfilled a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to depict my homeland in a beautiful, organic and amazing way. (I went to art school...I need to show off my skillz to gramps!!).
