Update #18: Thank You
Hello Everyone,
We're about 6 hours away from our Kickstarter deadline and unless we score a ton of new backers by then, it is looking like we will not be successful in reaching our funding goal.
That's the bad news.
The good news is that we did find a colorist for our book who is partnering with us to get it completed. We won't be done in time for Wondercon but we do plan on being ready for the San Diego Comicon in July.
Even though we were not successful, this has been a positive experience for us and we learned a lot about what it takes to market a project and get some interest from the public. We aren't giving up on Venus. We love it too much and believe in it's potential, or maybe we're just crazy. :) One way or another, we will get this book out there. That you can be sure of.
We still have to figure out what the next steps will be in raising funding to publish the book. We may launch a new Kickstarter campaign, taking what we learned this time around and designing a better project. However we do it, we will let you guys know how you can see the book in the future. If you are in San Diego, keep your eyes open for us. We are planning to get a table over in artist's alley.
In closing we want to thank all of our backers who offered their support to the project: friends, family, and strangers with impeccable taste.:) It really meant a lot to us to see people take an interest in our work and we hope that you will consider supporting us again once we figure out our next move.

I like this layout Allot better. The attention goes right where it needs to be and isn't too busy. Although, i think the art work of the moon looks a bit too real and not quite matching up with the rest of the hand drawn elements. Also, i think the U and S need to be stretched down to line up with the rest of the VENUS text. But i'm diggin it.

Update #14: Venus Cover!
One of the pieces required to submit to most publishers is a cover image or concept. Here is the one that Matt and I came up with for our current round of submissions. What do you think?
