Let's frame my unique CD Artwork and send it to the fair - and to YOU, if you'd like!
The Gila County Fair will be held on September 20 - 23, 2012. After years of planning to enter and never getting around to it, I hope to finally take the plunge! The problem is, they require that all paintings be framed. I therefore need to have all of the artwork I plan to enter (up to 10 pieces are permitted) framed.
This project is to earn enough funds to frame the eight pieces that I currently have, including the five pictured below and three larger pieces.
8x10 Ladybug: Available as a postcard at all levels. Also available as a print; or reserve the one and only original!
8x10 Rat. "I TOLD you not to swallow the doughnut whole!": Available as a print or reserve the original.
8x10 Pig: A full-size CD is the body and a mini CD is the head. Available as a print or reserve the original! 
8x10 Cat: Available as a print or reserve the original!
8x10 Brown Bear: Available as a print or reserve the original!
The rat and brown bear were completed after I launched, but are also available as prints at the $10 level even though they are not specifically named.

After Kickstarter and Amazon.com fees and shipping the rewards, yes. It will actually come to more than that. When I create art, I use the whole canvas. This means that if I go to the store and buy a standard frame, I'm likely to cover up some of my hard work. The solution is to have someone custom-make frames with a very small bevel. My price quote (which is an extremely good deal - a fraction of what it would have cost at a chain craft store) is as follows:
8x10- $8 ea. x 5 = $40
10x16- $12 ea. x 1 = $12
16x20- $15 ea. x 2 = $30
That comes to $82. Add to that Kickstarter/Amazon fees of approximately 10% ($10) and the $20 minimum needed to fulfill rewards (not counting materials already used to create the existing work), and the grand total comes to $112.00.
I'm not trying to earn pocket money, I'm just giving my art a chance to help pay for itself.
