My personal narrative alphabet book features interpretive illustrations referencing world history, legends, myths and folklore.
Alphabet Book by Carl will be for all to enjoy, both young and old alike. The narrative nature of the book encompasses characters and situations from my own personal mythology, including people, animals and particular events and situations that have occurred in my life which I have reinterpreted into illustrations referencing world history, legends, myths and folklore.
Alphabet Book by Carl is a unique twist on the traditional alphabet book genre. For example, when I paint a picture of a three-headed dachshund, my illustration is accompanied by C is for Chloe (instead of T is for Three-Headed Dog, or D is for Dachshund).
While this connection is obvious to me and those who know my dog Chloe, other readers of Alphabet Book by Carl will have an opportunity to create their own associations with the illustrations and the corresponding text. This is precisely the purpose of my book – to introduce the possibilities of a personal letter vocabulary to all!
What Will the Money Go Towards?
*First print run of 1,000 books.
*Building and maintaining a website devoted solely for the purpose of pitching the book to the masses.
*Scheduling book talks at local libraries and bookstores in the Boston area.
