About this project
Aloha Friday is a blog you can hold.

An on-going project/series, Aloha Friday is Grady Gillan's bi-annual zine comprised of original photos shot on black and white film and laser printed in a 40-page 8.5" x 7" booklet.
Issue #1 was released in July 2010 and issue #2 was released in February 2011-- initial runs of both issues sold out; you may purchase reprints here.
Aloha Friday #3 is slated for a September 2011 release. A small release party will be held but all donors of $7 or more will get an advance copy. All funds will go towards printing and shipping costs with any additional funds going towards more film and processing.
Here's what people had to say about the first two:
"Pages that unfold as an of-the-moment narrative that’s both immediate and timeless, ambiguous and familiar, thoughtless and memorable, all shot with a breezy stolidity that remains true to the zine’s slice-of-life namesake."- Honolulu Weekly
"Gillan's tightly curated selections, which were, I imagine, pulled from hundreds of photographs, stun."- Department of Public Works
"Aloha Friday is a tangible document that celebrates the mediocre, the tawdry and the occasional beauty that surrounds us." - Honolulu Star Advertiser
