"Next to You” was written by Los Angeles newcomer Alex Odin, a young, independent Writer/Director from the Boston area. Odin has directed over 30 short films and won nine awards for his direction and writing at various Boston-area shorts festivals and showcases. “Next to You” is a prequel short for the feature-length script “In Your Wake,” also written by Odin, and is intended to be used to garner interest from financiers and suicide-awareness organizations to support the production of “In Your Wake.”
The cast and crew of "Next to You" are completely volunteers and are not paid for their talents. The producer and director, as well as much of the crew, are film students or recent graduates.
The money will be used to cover various production costs such as props, costumes, equipment, and craft services.
The movie will be shot this spring.
