Hello Kickstarter community! Aliethea D'Angelo (director of the video) here... and all I want for Christmas is to direct this video!!! I wanted to share a bit of the music video concept so that you could join us in our excitement!
The "Shot on the Spot" video will be a theatrical type stage play based in the late 1930's Depression Era. If you will, picture this... a big red curtain opens to a black and white backdrop reflecting the background and social climate of the first phase of the story: working class 1930's before the Depression hit. (Ideally we can get the budget to paint it! but back-projecting would be a less expensive option.) We then watch as the band progresses through a downward spiral from working class to poverty. The story is visually narrated through the expressive dancing of Laena Geronimo as she sings a timeless yet hauntingly relevant tale from the perspective of three different characters based in 20th century Depression Era Show Business.
WE reach out to the Kickstarter community in the hopes of raising the monetary support that we need to: Purchase the materials to build the set - Rent wardrobe, camera, lighting & electrical equipment - Insurance - Feed the crew that will be working 1 full day building the sets, and 1 full 14 hour day shooting the video (TROOPERS! Wish we could do more for them!)
We are truly asking for the barest of bare minimums as we are SOLELY relying on volunteered support to make this happen. Thank you to the people who believe in this video concept and the music! I know it is a VERY big vision... That's right- there are 3 different acts and wardrobe changes! We are seriously only asking for the lowest budget that we could possibly work with to shoot this video- so any additional help beyond our $2,000 goal is more than welcome! It will all help! I saw Raw Geronimo play live over the summer and just fell in love with their sound and stage presence, and afterward approached Laena to talk about the possibility of shooting a video together. We exchanged info and began down a creative path that eventually lead us to the original music video concept for the song "Shot on the Spot". It is really exciting and also rare to work with someone who you can creatively spar and compromise with- and be strong about vision and clear about outcome- and all the while have a really good laugh at ourselves! The outcome is such a composite of our two minds- it has really been an awesome experience conceptualizing together and we are both so excited about this video! We have the support of a friend who has a stage that we are building and shooting on (we are truly blessed!) Along with the best and most amazing crew of talented folks on board to help make this challenging concept come to be a reality...
It is this support that keeps the creative community alive and kicking! Thanks so SO so much for all your help!

Citing obscenely vast influences from the smashing of rocks to Paganini violin solos, Los Angeles' RAW GERONIMO describes their sound as jungle-punk-soul-surf-goth-avant-pop-wildness. Equally channeling the soulful sweetness of Patsy Cline along with the magnetic intensity of Siouxsie, RAW GERONIMO is the brainchild of multi instrumentalist/singer Laena Geronimo. Forming the band in early 2011, the sextet has quickly built a reputation for their mesmerizing live tribal séance and high-energy performances.
RAW GERONIMO will be releasing their 2nd single 7"- "Role Play/Shot On The Spot" January 23rd, 2012 as a follow up to their introductory single 7" "Faustine/Magnetic Love" (released Nov. 2011) both out on Neurotic Yell Records. With a full-length in the works, one music video already under their belt and two more to come out in early 2012- they are proving a truly ambitious force to be reckoned with and one to no doubt watch!
