About this project
Barriers. Snags. Obstacles. Hurdles. Everyone hates 'em, and I've hit a big one.
I am going to be level with you. Music is my life. When I wake up, I work on music. When I work on music, I work on music. When I am out with friends, I am thinking about working on music or listening to demos, so when I say music is my life, you know I am telling the truth. Aldaraia is one of the many titles under which I release my music. Unfortunately, of late, my equipment has not been able to meet the demands that I make of it.
My most recent album And When The Sky Was Opened was generally agreed to be a fantastic start to a promising career. I scarcely heard a negative word about it, from friends, family or strangers. Before that, my only release was a collection of demos and a self produced instrumental album, and since then I've released a couple of singles and another, synth based instrumental album .
I am now working on the second of Aldaraia's complete albums, and second in a series of what I hope to be many. The problem is that I am working with outdated and outmoded equipment. A bass in its death throes. Cheap, temperamental microphones, and a five year old computer that just cannot keep up with what I demand of it any longer. These things are hinderances that are preventing me from keeping up with the creative urges that I have been feeling so strongly of late.
So, I am coming to you, my family, my friends, enemies, lovers, haters, acquaintances, associates, relatives, fellows. I am asking you to help provide me with the things I need to keep making music for a long, long time.
It's not much. What will your pledges help provide? A new (or recently used) computer, possibly a new bass, or repairs to my current bass, and whatever pieces of outboard gear that I can afford with the remains and what I have saved. A recent computer will keep me in business for at least a couple years, the bass (or repairs) will give me...well...a working bass, and the outboard gear will serve multiple purposes.
Any funds beyond that will be used for ancillary things: strings, cables, picks and the sweet, sweet ambrosia that sustains me: tea.

This will include the album in a hand made velvet slipcase, with printed artwork, a signed book that contains information about the creative process of the album, as well as a personalized letter from me elaborating my thanks. This will also include a basic physical copy of every future Aldaraia album sent to you upon your request.

Everything mentioned above, but there's MORE. One of two outcomes is possible with this pledge amount: Either I will come to you, brew you tea and perform a faux-acoustic version of the next Aldaraia album for you and your friends, or I will have you brought to me so that I can brew you tea and perform a faux-acoustic version of the next Aldaraia album for you and all my friends. Whichever you prefer. Either way, I will hand you the ultra super mega deluxe edition of the album, at least one cup of tea, and possibly one of the lamest performances that you will ever see. Bear in mind that this is conditional on when I get the next album done, but the good thing is that with this donation, I will be able to afford things to expedite the creative process. At most, it will take a year, but it will likely take only a handful of months.
