Akorn Entertainment was founded by Jeffrey Horn and Ali Akbarzadeh in 2006 on the mantra of producing highly creative, visually compelling content that engages viewers on multiple levels. Much of the production work scope consists of intimate personal stories woven together with beautiful High-Definition video, captivating visual effects and unforgettable music.
Highlights from the Akorn Entertainment portfolio include a feature length documentary about the city of Downtown Santa Ana that is enjoying it’s third year on PBS in Orange County. Akorn also received two platinum MARCOM Awards for their campaign with the OC Goodwill, the three PSA’s took best campaign and best pro-bono.
Chris Dollar is an Advanced Placement U.S. Government, Economics, World History, and Model United Nations teacher at Capistrano Valley High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science with an emphasis in American Government at California State University, Long Beach where he was accepted into the President's Scholar Program. Chris also served as a paid intern for Congressman Stephen Horn, where his work focused in the Congressional Subcommittee for Government Management Information and Technology. He joined up with Akorn to develop and produce the documentary #killswitch.
