What Would You Like To See Next?

Update #11 · Apr 14, 2012 · 35 comments

After all, I'm here for you and for the kids in your life.

We've sold out of our initial super-big-mega-awesome-thank-yous.

What should take their place?  Calendars would take a long time because that's a lot of illustrations to license and, well, draw, so they wouldn't likely be ready by year's end.  I can write another short story. We can do a library fund for schools. A teacher's guide for using the books in the classroom.  We can do other merch-type things.  What's a fun thing to have around that says "I helped bring this world to life"?

So, comments, please.  The Wollstonecraft girls belong to the whole world now, so your input is greatly valued.

FOURTH BOOK ANNOUNCEMENT will be on Monday, to mark the midpoint of the campaign.  I'll tell you who's in it, what it's about, and how to get it.  I can even take a guess as to "when".

Thank you all SO MUCH for your ideas and pledges and support and links and high-fives. This is something we're all creating together.

– Jordan

I am.

You're lovely.  This is incredible.  The opportunities for extending this beyond the first three books are pouring in; people want to see this entire project become larger and cross-media.

We sold out of the prints+tee-shirt+paperback+etc. level.  We're coming up with something amazing as another thank you for a pledge at that level, but it takes some figuring.  The project management from the fulfillment side of things has caught us all a little of guard but now there's a plan in place so I can exhale.

Press has been amazing.  You're all doing this!  You're making this come to life.  Thank you so much.  We're investing your participation into deepening and enriching the books and exploring different ways for these characters to inspire.

So, I just wanted to thank you for loving this project as much as I do.

New Stretch Goal: Twenty Five at Twenty Five!

Update #9 · Apr 12, 2012 · 11 comments

So, here's something I know I can do without needing third party or much additional budget – although I'm breaking my own Project Management rules:

When we get to $25,000 – which looks like tonight, if the past 10 days are any indication – everybody who has pledged at the $25 level and up (Book One and Book Two plus Cover Postcard) will ALSO receive the ebook of Book Three (seeing as at that point we'll have cleared the budget for at least the Illustrator and Editor of the first three books).  The ebooks will be sent to you in all 3 standard formats – Kindle, ePub, and PDF.  They'll be sent one at a time, as they're finished editing.

(Paperbacks for all three books will of course be available on Amazon later on).

Thank you again – you're making this happen, and I love that you love this project as much as I do!  You're bringing the world of Wollstonecraft to life!

New Stretch Goals / Rewards Tomorrow!

Update #8 · Apr 10, 2012 · 7 comments

Uh... wow.

400%.  This is all those adjectives I keep using, such as "amazing", "incredible", "overwhelming" and "astonishing".  Superlative?  I'm going to need to bust out the thesaurus so you don't all get bored.  "Dude, whoa," also seems appropriate at the moment.

This happened before we could have a meeting about what happens when this happens. That meeting is tomorrow, where we strategize new things for those who have already supported the project, and what happens when we hit the next goal and the one after that.  But basically – you all get more stuff as the world of Wollstonecraft gets bigger.  We just need to adjust the spreadsheet to see what those things are and when you can get them.  And then we'll tell you all about it tomorrow.  Promise.

Thank you thank you thank you.  I love that you love these girls as much as I do, and thank you for bringing this to life.

In the meantime, I'm doing the ebook prep for "Mechanicals" which is my not-for-kids steampunk Crimean war novel, which launches in less than two weeks.  Those of you who have pledged at the $50 and up level have a copy coming, and I hope you enjoy it!

A shout out to Claire and Kevin and Zandra.  Go Team Wollstonecraft!

The coverage on this project has been incredible.  So many new backers!  So many people want to come on board with this project and make the world of Wollstonecraft come alive and expand.

So, as of this morning, everybody who committed at the $10 level and above will get both the ebook of Book One AND the ebook of Book Two.  As the budget expands, more things are possible and more bonuses can be unlocked for backers regardless of when they pledged their support.  In short, as this gets bigger, it gets bigger for everybody.

More news Wednesday as we announce a new set of rewards and bonuses for existing supporters!  Thank you all so much!
