Phenomenal (Who Wants Dinosaurs?!)

Update #13 · Apr 16, 2012 · 9 comments

The creativity and collaboration keeps coming.

I've been getting amazing input for bigger stories, interactive maps, games, resources, animation, live-action, stage presentations, radio plays, audio books, international translations, merchandising...  You love how this world is coming together and are working to broaden it, enrich it.  Your ideas are as valuable as your pledges, because we're doing this together.  Thank you!

1500% funded.  And you want me to keep writing.  Alrighty then.

I'm committing to writing a fourth book, involving Mary Anning, the famous 19th century dinosaur hunter, and the Wollstonecraft girls in a Verne/Conan Doyle-inspired adventure.

Because of your support, I'll have the time to do this.  As for how and when to make this available, I'll have to get back to you on that.  I can look at a calendar and know what I can write when, but I don't yet know about availability of the rest of the team, but I promise to keep you posted through to – and after – the end of the campaign.

We're half way through the campaign, and I can't believe we got the green light just two weeks ago.  You are all absolutely amazing.

NEW PLEDGE LEVELS:  By request, I'll be setting up "Library Plus" levels for the Library Sponsor package PLUS the $125 and $250 awards.  But I need to make some tea first.

Thank you.  Ada & Mary thank you, too!

I just made a $75 pledge to receive a hard paperback copy of your book; however during the check out stage I wasn't given a choice on shipping destination nor was i pre-infomred as to the date you would ship. Only after my transaction was I infomred the book would not be shipping until June. But I will no longer be at my billing address in June and the book is intended as a gift for my daughter. I would like to be able to specify the shipping destination address in the UK otherwise I will not receive the book. how can I do this igorgoldkind@me.com

The Wollstonecraft is a veritable who's-who of 1820s London, so don't worry. ;-)

Will you be doing cameos of other seminal figures (like Jacquard as a next-door neighbour)? How about timeframes? That is, is it possible to get Grace Hopper in on the action? Long-winded Turing penpal who no one thinks is a real person, or a curmudgeonly Dijkstra asking questions that lead into new adventures? This sounds like great fun!

Wow-congratulations! I'm so impressed with the public reaction!
The girls could time travel and interact with other female scientists-from Hypatia of Alexandria to Marie Curie to Jane Goodall

Ooooohhh, love the idea of the intrepid gals crossing paths with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's characters. Yum.

Well, hell. I'm not a fan of dinosaurs, but you just said the magic words. These include "dinosaur", "Verne" and "Conan Doyle". My partner/sweetie Stu is a dinosaurphile, a Sherlockian, and a fan of Verne and a fan of alternate history. (and a judge of the main alt history award, the Sidewise Award). You're making it pretty impossible for me not to have to invest in book four. You ARE evil, you do know this, right?
